I know 3 kids called Ayrton for goodness sake. It really takes quite a lot to be truly unique and outing. I do know one kid who has a made up name so I won’t post that.

A selection of unusual names of kids I know, under-10s:
Madoc, Bianca, Chester, Desmond x2, Peter, David, Sally-Ann, Fearne, THREE Lily-Anns weirdly (not Lilian), Arturo, Percy x2, Patch (Patrick), 2x Ewan, Etty, Senna (boy), Senna (girl), Daphne.

There are seas and oceans around here of: Amelia/Amelie, Freya, Sienna, Evie, Isla.
Henry, Theo, Leo, Freddie, Hudson, Harrison, Harry, Bertie.

Dont know any Arlos strangely!

This is a very specific list of an entire Year 1 class OP! Not cool!

Without further info about them, does it matter?

ExposedCankles · 29/09/2025 18:51

stample · 20/09/2025 16:51

not child’s class as such but in their school we have a…

Amarachi
Bambi
Binky
Delta
Flossy
Melvina
Ophelia
Sunday
Troy
Truevine
Vogue
Zeus

Is it a puppy training class?

liveforsummer · 29/09/2025 19:07

You clearly have a very different demographic to the school I work in. I won’t list all the names as some of them are quite unusual and with my other posting history could end up identifiable but a large majority of the dc in my primary 2 class are Asian/Middle Eastern or African origin so names that reflect that. Further up the school are far more eastern/continental European names. We currently have 10 dc in our class of 25 with little to no English and a further few where it’s not their first language but are reasonably fluent

It could be an area like Wrecsam.

@NoNameNoOne , because the names are a mix of popular names and some that are only used a few times and likely to be only used in some areas.
Somebody might recognise the class/school from the list.

I've thought of another instance of [name]. A character in a soap opera. Does that count?

So what if someone recognises the class? If the OP isn’t bothered it’s identifiable why are you? She’s posted literally no information aside from a list of names.

CrispsPlease · 29/09/2025 19:22

😱😱😱 I can't believe you've listed your child's class. Someone on here is going to recognise this.

Firebird83 · 30/09/2025 08:52

In DS’s school we have lots of old names and also lots of Biblical names:

Alma
Martha
Violet
Esther
Phoebe
Edith
Naamah
Matilda
Lois

Isaac
Elijah
Stanley
Reuben
Arthur
Nathaniel
Josiah
Solomon
Henry

So?

So?

It makes the OP identifiable by process of elimination. Maybe that won't bother her though ?

Presumably not. Lots of other posters have suggested it's terribly problematic for some other reason but failed to explain what that reason is. I don't see what the issue even if it was a full list of one class's names and they were identified as being Orange class, year 3 from Middle Street Primary in Anytown. It doesn't matter.

PastaFasool · 01/10/2025 20:58

@Mugcake your list of names sounds suspiciously like Reception and Year's 1&2 of my DS's school!

DaisyDukesAuntie · 01/10/2025 21:22

I love the fact I’m all the way at the end and my sons name hasn’t been mentioned

I know from these threads that people like to find unusual names, but i tend to think that if a name is not popular is because most people don't like it.
