ok so we're preganant with B/G twins.

we're quite keen on the idea of 'proper names' so there's something formal but both DH and I are known by nicknames, and we want to have nicknames for out children too.

For our girl twin we like Libby (Elizabeth) or Tilly (Matilda) although personally im not certain i like Matilda - so if anyone knows anything else that can be shortened to Tilly.

We have no ideas for a boy though!! It needs to fit well with the girl's, but we don't like the same initial thing eg. Lewis and Lily as a) it's confusing and b) takes away a bit more individuality iyswwm

so yeah - any ideas for both boys and girls, that have (uncommon)nicknames and fit well together but don't use the same letter lol - not much

thanks

pigleychez · 02/06/2008 18:13

Libby and Ben (Benjamin)

For a funny- Ben and Gerri

PussinWellies · 02/06/2008 18:33

To shorten to Tilly well, we actually know an Elizabeth-shortened-to-Tilly! (I think she might be Charlotte Elizabeth try saying it out loud.)
There's also Ottilie or at a pinch Natalie.

lotspot · 02/06/2008 18:37

lol you joke about sam'n'ella....but a boy i teach has a younger brother called sam, and then a younger sister called ella!! He says ella and sam despite sam being older.

I quite like Libby and Tom but DH is less keen - silly man lol

And sorry Charlotte Elizabeth wouldn't work as my name's Charlotte and we're not big on the sharing names thing lol

I love Libby.

My ideas for boys are:
Edward (Ted)
Michael (Mikey)
Christopher (Kit)

lljkk · 02/06/2008 19:04

Tilda is a name in its own right, shortens to Tilly.

Hassled · 02/06/2008 19:06

I know Edward is the same initial, but can be Ned, Eddie, Ted, Ed etc. Or Charles/Charlie?

Idobelieveinfairies · 02/06/2008 19:06

Tilly is a name in it's own right, my friend has DD called Tilly..(however she does seem to get aked a lot whether her name is actually Matilda).

Congrats on B/G twins by the way..i have some too! Cerys & Kyran.

LynetteScavo · 02/06/2008 19:07

Tilda Rice

Aero · 02/06/2008 19:09

Kit (Christopher) and Libby?

LaDiDaDi · 02/06/2008 19:10

Lynette, that's exactly what put dp off Matilda when I was pregnant. I like the name though, it always makes me think of the roald Dahl book but for dp it just made him think "rice".

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 19:10
