With four letters:
Adam
Ezra
Noah
Rudy
Acer
Jake
Amos

Others:
Edmund (Eddie)
Peter
Robin
Matthew
Nathaniel
Thomas
Louis
Tristan
Felix
Jonathan
Stefan
Jonah
Gregory
Oscar

Noah Hall would create a lifetime of pain for the poor lad!

Forget the four letter requirement and just choose a name you really like. Two or three-syllable first names go best with one-syllable first names, in my opinion.

Toby is one of my favourite names.

How about

Luke
Liam
Evan
Rhys
Jack
Arlo

Owen is the obvious one to me. It has the two syllable, 4 letters, strong “O” sound like Toby - but is different enough that they won’t sound too matchy and it works fine with your surname.

O ending names like Theo, Arlo, Hugo and Milo would work for the same reason, but imo they feel a bit trendy compared to Toby and Owen.

Owen is too vowelly, and sounds like Owing All
The -o names don't work because the H will get dropped.
Hugo Hall sounds like a comedian's stage name.

I think most names work with a surname like Hall. Only ones you need to be wary of are ones that make it sound like an address. So avoid surnames as first names - Baxter, Hunter, Harrison etc.

Or Toad (Of Toad) Hall🐸

Noah Hall would create a lifetime of pain for the poor lad!

Especially with an initial T in the middle: Noah T 'All.

Jake Hall and hide?
