Baby girl suggestions

Hi
My DH and I have found out today that we're having a girl which will be due around Christmas. We were more set on boys names as we already have a girl and we can't think of names we love as much as her name. Have posted before but no longer very sure so would prefer a fresh list of names.
Names that we both like but can't use:
Elsie
Matilda
Rosie
Holly

Any suggestions of names?
Thanks

Your list consists of what I'd consider nice pretty, very mainstream names.I'd go through the top 100 names and see if there's anything you like there. I'd also look at the top 100 from ten years ago and see if that throws up anything.

My suggestions are:

Sophie
Chloe
Evie
Anna
Isobel
Marnie
Lucy
Phoebe
Iris

Freya is one beautiful name, take Frances off my list upthread ( don’t like two starting with the same letter) and any of the rest will go nicely.

Love Freya.
My first thought was Natalie.
Also, Sylvie is lovely.

Goandygo · 23/07/2025 15:01

Or Natalia.
(Natalie meaning born around Christmas).

Cooperboom32 · 23/07/2025 21:55

Thanks for the name suggestions lots of lovely name ideas. We like Heidi, Clara, Erin, Margot and Eloise.
There's some others that are great but we feel don't really work for our surname.
Some of the names had a look at and like are
Ayla
Seren
Erin
Eilidh
Skye
Laila
Olivia
Cara
Maia
Katie
Sylvie
Naomi
Rhiannon
Opinions?

I love Seren, Erin, Laila, Cara, Maia and Katie from your list - all gorgeous.

I think Erin goes particularly well with Freya 😊 Heidi also goes brilliantly with Freya.

fairycupcakes · 23/07/2025 22:18

How about Noelle if she’s to be born around Christmas? 😊

RogueFemale · 24/07/2025 00:25

I suggest Sibylla or Venetia. Calypso or Diana.

LucasBuck · 24/07/2025 00:36

Maia works brilliantly with Freya as a sibset as they are both Ancient Goddess names which are internationally popular but especially in Scandinavian countries (admittedly more often spelt Freja and Maja there).

Of your other choices I feel that Erin and Cara also sound good with Freya. Similar Lara would work really well too. Freya to me is an old name but which has a more modern vibe (possibly as it wasn’t popular until 20/30 years ago) - so to me those are the names which most have a similar style.

miniaturepixieonacid · 24/07/2025 01:05

Oh, I LOVE your new list! A lot are a lot more unusual/quirky than Freya but I don't think sibling names have to 'go'.

If you do want matching vibes then I think Ayla, Olivia, Maia and Katie go best with Freya.

My personal favourites are Erin, Naomi and Rhiannon.

But they are all lovely and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
