We've had a boys name picked since we were expecting DD2, we still love it so that was the automatic choice this time but now I really like another name but DH still loves the original choice.

So ......... Jude or Archie ?

Prefer Archie, personally. Jude is too Hey Jude/Jude the Obscure for me. Sounds as if the parents are trying to be cool and failing.

nervousal · 26/05/2008 12:47

Archie

FoghornLeghorn · 26/05/2008 12:48

Edam - Every single person we have mentioned Jude to has started singing Hey Jude .... could we really put him through that for the rest of his life ?

Collision · 26/05/2008 12:49

edam · 26/05/2008 12:52

No, you couldn't, go for Archie! (And tell us which is your favourite and which is dh's while you are about it, you minx...)

FoghornLeghorn · 26/05/2008 12:56

Jude = DH
Archie = Me

Jude has been our choice since being pregnant with DD2 but on Friday Archie suddenly popped into my head and now I think I prefer it

Love the name Archie!

LaDiDaDi · 26/05/2008 13:27

We would have used Archie if dd had been a boy. Think Jude's fine but love Archie. Do they both go with your surname and dd's bname?

norkmaiden · 26/05/2008 13:32

Jude gets my vote - love it.

3andnomore · 26/05/2008 13:43

prefer Jude over Archie...

Amandella · 26/05/2008 14:15

Love Jude! Archie - not so sure but it's OK.

AbbeyA · 26/05/2008 14:31

The only Jude that I know (personally) is a girl. With Archie, I immediately think Archibald.
I dislike both.

Lovesdogsandcats · 26/05/2008 14:38

Jude sounds like a shortened girls name (Judith)... hate it.

3andnomore · 26/05/2008 15:17

see Jude, I picture automatically Jude Law...which is a good thing
Archie, I picture a tatty old man, lol

SylvieBruno · 26/05/2008 18:25

I prefer Archie. Jude is too pretentious. But I prefer Richie to ARchie. It is more classic and yet still less predictable. It's less fashionable I guess, and I like that.

lollipopmother · 26/05/2008 18:43

I don't really like either of them, Jude always makes me think of a woman and I don't particularly like calling a child an already abreviated name, plus Archie is very popular at the moment.

I think on reflection however, I like Archie more than Jude, BUT I would choose Jude because it is a relatively unused name - nothing worse than being one of three Archie's in the class.

NotABanana · 26/05/2008 18:44

Archie

dizzydixies · 26/05/2008 18:45
