We've had a boys name picked since we were expecting DD2, we still love it so that was the automatic choice this time but now I really like another name but DH still loves the original choice.

So ......... Jude or Archie ?

Can I suggest Arthur ? It is less popular than Archie, less fashionable than Jude, but iMO somehow similar to both.

kitsmummy · 26/05/2008 22:56

Jude. Archie is too common these days and bit too "cute"

hunkermunker · 26/05/2008 22:58

Archie becoming v common if that worries you.

Jude lovely. I really like it.

janeite · 26/05/2008 23:00

Jude. Don't like Archie. And I would always think of Hardy over The Beatles.

pavlovthecat · 26/05/2008 23:00

friends little boy is always being called Judey - in a cutesy baby way, hey Judey Jude. But Judy is a girl's name it readlly upsets his mother!

He also gets called Dude by lots of people, which I personally dislike immensely. 'Hey DUDE! hahahaha!'

ButterflyMcQueen · 26/05/2008 23:01

jude

archie so now

jude classy and handsome

hardyesque

Mavornia · 26/05/2008 23:14

definitely Jude

Archie sounds harsh and just too popular

FoghornLeghorn · 27/05/2008 18:10

Lots of people have been telling me Archie is getting increasingly popular which I didn't realise as I don't know any .....

Maybe Jude is going to pip it for that reason ?!?

Archie is cute but every boy who isn't called Finlay is called Archie.

spareparts · 27/05/2008 19:01

Erm puffling, I think you'll find that every other boy is called Jack or Joshua, not Finlay and Archie. They are nowhere near the top.

nooka · 27/05/2008 19:18

Love Jude. Not keen on Archie. I don't like diminuitives given as full names. Archie is very sweet on a little boy, but IMO not very adult. I like to do the footballer / high court judge test. Actually I like flexible names so not sure why I like Jude, but I do (and Hey Jude is a great song!)
