Opinions on Cordelia

Cordelia is top of our list at the moment

Thought? Any similar names we might like?

It’s alright. I know one who does play the cello actually but isn’t at all posh.

I prefer Delia, that’s a lovely name. Or Celia.

I don’t consider it pretentious, especially considering the Buffy connotations. I’ve only know two Cordelias, one a salt of the earth cockney via Jamaica, and the other who used to describe herself as ‘new money’ (daughter of a successful electrician). Both women were so much fun and pretty much the antithesis of pretentiousness.

How about Delia?

Although it is a pretty name, the links to the Shakespearian character and her sad end mean I would never use the name.

I love it, I do think Buffy but not in a bad way, and she's a good character anyway

It was on my list for DD but had to rule it out as named my first child after a Buffy character and thought it would be too much.

DD is Cordelia. It’s a beautiful name.

Sorry, too posh for me! Delia is lovely though.

I'm not keen. The "Cord-" part reminds me of cording/rope/string...yes I'm weird. Also I don't think anyone in my circle would put such a posh name on a child 😃.

I know two Buffys and they both rock it.

I immediately think of Lady Cordelia Flyte from Brideshead Revisited. I named my son after another character in the book.

Beautiful name! Was on my list too, as was Cecilia so you may like that.

I didn't like it until my daughter became friends with a Cordelia who is the cutest so now I do 😂

It's a bit posh but I love the nickname Dilly
