I really like this name and I’m thinking of using it - potentially as a middle name - for my baby (if she’s a girl).

Opinions on the name?

It's a no from me as I have a Scottish accent and it would sound terrible 😆. If you have an Italian accent it will be fab though!

Natalia is a lovely name!

DuckieDodgyHedgyPiggy · 21/03/2025 22:27

Gorgeous! I would wonder if you had Spanish or Italian heritage - Natalie would be the usual British name but Natalia is nicer, I think.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 21/03/2025 22:28

I think it's a very pretty name.

RuthW · 21/03/2025 22:29

Lovely.

Dustmylemonlies · 21/03/2025 22:38

Nice, although I prefer Natalie

Pillarsofsalt · 21/03/2025 22:38

Agree on the Scottish accent, otherwise gorgeous!

ODFOx · 21/03/2025 22:39

I like it. I have a very strong / feisty / fabulous ex-colleague called Natalia who is Russian.

josuk · 21/03/2025 22:47

Its a beautiful name, but why hide it as a middle name?
I think Natali would be more Italian - and Natalia is more common in Russia.

While it’a a beautiful name, if you were to use it as the first name - I think people would shorten it to Nat.

Mistyglade · 21/03/2025 22:51

very pretty name.

Moreteaandchocolate · 21/03/2025 23:10

Pretty name - and it shortens to the lovely “Talia” if she likes

Thatslife1 · 21/03/2025 23:14

Gorgeous name!

SpectatorInLife · 21/03/2025 23:25

Lovely name.

sunshineandshowers40 · 21/03/2025 23:26

Lovely name. 😊

Needspaceforlego · 21/03/2025 23:36

There's nothing wrong with it. Perfectly acceptable name. I don't think the child will have any hassle with it, ie no dodgy nicknames deriving from it.

However I personally don't like it. I don't really know why it might well be the Scottish accent and the gruff way if would end up being said. And actually I don't like Natalie for the same reason.

BrandonFlowersEyesWithEyeliner · 21/03/2025 23:45

It is a lovely name. But, there's a but.

It's so Italian sounding - that a curvy , beautiful (slightly high maintenance 😄) lady with a Kelly Brooke figure, long black loose curled hair , sunglasses (the big black ones ) , black long sleeved low v-Cut top, beige chinos, 'clip clop" heels is heavily strutting past looking sassy and confident, chewing a piece of gum. To me, that is 'Natalia'!!! (I think a few posters will be secretly nodding in agreement)

If your Natalia is fair, blonde haired blue eyed and very 'english rose' looking - it just won't work 🙈

stillwaitingtobepaid · 21/03/2025 23:47

I think it’s a pretty name.Just use it if you like it.X

mathanxiety · 22/03/2025 00:34

Edited

I'd consider it much more of a Russian sounding name.

I also always think of Natalia as Russian.

28Fluctuations · 22/03/2025 00:38

Lovely name wherever it originated! Go for it.

MidnightMillie · 22/03/2025 00:41

Oh I love it!

Which is unusual for me because I normally have to sit on my hands when a lot of names are suggested on here!

Snugglemonkey · 22/03/2025 00:53

I think it is lovely (and not just for Italian types). My issue with it us also an accent one. Not the Scottish accent, as there is more than one and I have heard it said here and be perfectly lovely. More the adding random r sounds. Natarliar would totally melt my head. Where do you live Op? What would it sound like there?

Leeloo1233 · 22/03/2025 15:09

I would assume Russian
