Nina, Margot, Rosa or Juno - which do you prefer?

We already have a Theo and an Anna.

Juno always sounds like the male version of June to me. I think Margot is a bit pretentious. Nina is ok but I like Rosa best by far.

SnowFrogJelly · 23/02/2025 16:09

Rosa

Blackoutbeans · 23/02/2025 16:18

Margot, Rosa, Nina, Juno

rizzomaisel · 23/02/2025 16:23

Lovely names all! Margot and Juno sound a bit too much like Theo but maybe overthinking it.

WinterCarlisle · 23/02/2025 16:25

Rosa.

Margot = Maggot

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/02/2025 16:27

CrimsonVioletTeal · 23/02/2025 12:20

Anna and Nina sound too alike. I like Margot best.

This!

Chuchoter · 23/02/2025 16:29

Nina.

dontforgettofloss · 23/02/2025 16:55

I'd go with Rosa, it's such a lovely name

cherrymelon · 23/02/2025 16:59

Rosa is beautiful, followed second by Nina. Lots of little Margot's currently at DCs Pre-School and primary schools!

BoleynMemories13 · 23/02/2025 17:04

I like Nina, but agree it's too similar to Anna. Margot and Rosa go best in terms of style, whereas Juno seems like a very different vibe to Theo and Anna.

Curve ball - how about Rose instead of Rosa? Then all 3 ends with a different sound.

Mandarinaduck · 23/02/2025 17:06

They are all lovely names. I think Rosa goes best with a Theo and Anna. If it were me I’d go for a name that didn’t end in either -o or -a though. Daphne, Belle, Olive, Carys, something like that.

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 23/02/2025 17:08

Any but Juno

Craftysue · 23/02/2025 17:14

I think Rosa goes best with your other names. I love Nina but I think it sounds very similar to Anna. To be honest they're all lovely names so I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Pyjamatimenow · 23/02/2025 17:15

Nina. Rose is boring to me. Juno a bit weird and Margot reminds me of maggot.

IJustLoveDogsTBH · 23/02/2025 17:26

Juno is my favourite but very similar to Theo but then my kids names are all very similar so don’t listen to me.

Margot fits well as then they all have different ending sounds for their names.

I don’t like Nina as it reminds me of Nina and the Neurons which my older children used to watch when I was pregnant and had terrible morning/all day sickness and I can’t get over the association.

Rosa is ok but makes me think of a cat name.

Sunnnybunny72 · 23/02/2025 17:36

Rosa.
Not another Margot!

Rosa or Margot with your others. I love Juno best but it’s a bit samey with Theo and v different to Anna.

RedToothBrush · 23/02/2025 19:35

Margot is the one on trend and in fashion - but that also makes it particularly marmite.

Hate Juno. It's awful.

Nina and Rosa are safer and more classic. They won't age as badly as Margot.

Rainbow1235 · 23/02/2025 19:39

I have a rosie who we call rose now as she’s 22 so I would have to say Rosa it’s so pretty

MumonabikeE5 · 23/02/2025 19:53

4 great names. To go with 2 great names. Choose the one that you like when you meet her

SabbatWheel · 23/02/2025 19:54

Nina.
Love this name,

GoldenLegend · 23/02/2025 20:01

Nina
Juno
Rosa
Margot

But they are all nice.

Huzzahs · 23/02/2025 21:03

Thanks. I am interested that so many have said they wouldn’t use Nina with Anna. I had questioned doing that but IRL people keep saying it’s fine, on here less so.

It is shame as Nina is probably my favourite of the names.

Juno is least popular here and I think I agree it’s in fourth place.

I do like Aphra, Nora and Olive too but my husband does not. He likes Nell but I’m not crazy about it.

Nina - I irrationally dislike it
Margot - it's too MN Grin it's like saying "I wear Boden, all my towels are white and I don't have a toilet brush"
Rosa - it's lovely, but I would use it as a shortening for Rosalie or Rosalind
Juno - not my taste, but not horrible
