Girls name to match Eve

Evmamai · 12/02/2025 14:56

Hi all, we have a toddler named Eve and are expecting a second baby girl in March. We found picking Eve’s name super easy and even now she suits it’s so well. Her full name is Eve Alexandra.
Our shortlist right now is

  • Zara
  • May
  • Isla
  • Grace

However none feel quite right, I love May but DH worries that two single syllable 3 letter names is a bitch match. I also love Isla but it is very popular. DH loves Grace but I went to school with. Girl who was cruelly nicknamed “Greasy Grace” and now I hear grease when ever I hear Grace. Zara is another of my preferences but DH says it makes him think of the shop!

So any ideas or suggestions? Our surname is McManus.

Just wondering do people think May McManus flows/sounds okay?

What about Esmé? It flows better with your surname but you might not want both having the same initial.

Too many Ms. it might be me but it looks like a lot of Ms followed by anus. I'll get my coat

Ava matches quite well. If you think E-v-e, then A-v-a (one has e and the other has a). I know twins called Ava and Eve. I thought it was quite clever and cute!

How about Abigail, shortened to Abi for everyday use.

There’s an Ada in my daughters class at school and it’s quickly become my new favourite name!

Ada and Eve sound perfect together - both short and sweet but with different syllables.

Twixtmasjigsaw · 12/02/2025 20:26

I think Eve and Zara work really nicely together.
