I'd ask the parents first because it's about 50/50 from all the Esme's I've ever taught and sods law would say I got it wrong. 😅

I have an Ess-mee but it invariably gets pronounced Ez-may or as my Cornish fil Ez-mer!

I would pronounce it Ez-me because I'd only ever seen it in writing and not heard it out loud. But I've learnt from Mumsnet that it's pronounced Ez-may.

Ezz-mee, though most seem to be Ess-MAY now. It's ruined a lovely name, in my opinion

Ez-may, it wouldn’t occur to me that it could be pronounced Ez-mee as all the ones I’ve known have pronounced it Ez-may.

Im really not keen on the sound of Ez-mee personally.
