Iris or Alba

These are our two front runner names. Just interested in general thoughts.

Middle name will be polysyllabic, something along the lines of Evangeline (but not that).

Surname is two syllable, ending in an “ee” sound.

Another Scottish person saying that if not Gaelic, or Scottish. Would be strange.

Charlotte Crosby’s daughter is called Alba, sorry but that’s enough to put me off it.

i always just think of ‘Iris’ as in eye membrane, not the flower, which has always put me off it.

I like Alba but wasn’t aware of the electronic company.

Iris is beautiful. I don’t like Alba.

Iris is lovely. Alba is a Scottish political party, so NO. Or it means white. Not great, either.

I have just remembered the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls as well. Such a good song.

My mum's name was Iris and she hated it! I really like it.
I much prefer it to Alba, and I don't think of the "iris" part of the eye, but the flower.

Just seen that you're in Wales - don't forget, Scotland is "yr Alban" in Welsh, so the name would inevitably be connected.
