Still strugglin with girls names.

One that wasnt immediantly dismissed and is now the first girls name we have actually considered serious, was Sinead.

We have a Nicole, Lauren and Serena. Someone on another thread pointed out that all have E and N in them. and they work well together. Does Sinead fit in there?

emmaline? (has the ne thing going on...)

BigBadMouse · 06/05/2008 22:07

Um.....conventional spelling is Isaac if that is what you are after but I have seen a lot of variations - some are foreign spellings and some look pretty much made up to me

1dilemma · 06/05/2008 22:08

spelling was never my strong point!

roquefort · 06/05/2008 22:08

Agree with BBM - standard biblical spelling is Isaac

1dilemma · 06/05/2008 22:08

cross posted!
I'm guessing it can be Izaac too?

roquefort · 06/05/2008 22:08

  • just googled 'Issac' to see what came up and all I got was 'International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation'

Anyway, 'tis an awful name no matter how you spell it - don't use it at any cost !

roquefort · 06/05/2008 22:13

Sinead lovely by the way - makes me think of Sinead Cusack (married to Jeremy Irons).

misdee · 06/05/2008 22:13

lol BBM. what do u think of Bernard

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 06/05/2008 22:15

Bernard's lovely - you really should go for it you know

chonky · 06/05/2008 22:15

Sinead's a lovely name, and really unusual (have only ever met one Sinead before).

expatinscotland · 06/05/2008 22:16

I like Bernard, too.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 06/05/2008 22:18

OOOOOOOooooH

I saw this thread in work, and I have a self imposed rule not to post.

It is a truly wonderful name.

misdee · 06/05/2008 22:19

ex[pat how you doing?

i think dh would wet himself with laughter if i actually suggested bernard seriously. he has been joking about it for so so long.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 06/05/2008 22:22

So you're not really considering Bernard as an alternative to Isaac if it's a boy .

Ooops. Sorry! I like both names.

I'm hoping the nausea abates soon - a little over 15 weeks now .

Heartburn kicking in.

I'm reasonably sure it's another girl, but may or may not be proven wrong on 13 June.

If it's a girl, she'll be Muireann. If it's a boy, he'll be Struan.

princessmel · 06/05/2008 22:22

I don't like it. Sorry, bit you did ask.

misdee · 06/05/2008 22:24

expat how do you pronouce those

bernard is a v v long running joke, dating way back to when i was pregnant with dd1. dh says it like 'Buuuuuurn-nard' in a deep gruff voice. it is actually growing on me, its only taken over 8years to get me to like it lol.

LGJ, did i spell Sinead correctly?

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 06/05/2008 22:26

Mirren and Strewn, well, that's how it's said around here, there's a wee boy in P4 of Dd1's soon-to-be school with that name.

But not any others I've seen.

Actually, one of the students I used to work with, a wee girl from Ayrshire, is the one who suggested it.

misdee · 06/05/2008 22:28

very nice (now i know how to say them )

do u get a 20 week scan up where you are?

i am being bombarbded with scans, inc specialist ones at guys hospital again. double whammy due to dh (viral) heart probs and dd1 leaking valve. so will get to see this little one loads, as will also be having growth scans every 4 weeks due to gestional diabetes last time.
