Who has picked out names for their baby?
Ours are currently :
Linus William (if it's a boy)
Emilia Daisy (if it's a girl)

I do keep changing my mind though!

i will do! there will be a post in birth announcements once s/he comes along! Although, if it's anything like I was when I was born it may be some time before I can even get online!

Hi everyone, we're expecting twins, and so far we have:

Aakash or Akshay and Paresh or Ravi

We were quite keen on akshay and Ravi until I realised Akshay sounds quite a bit like ashtray
Am I being paranoid, or do other mums think it might be a problem?

nailpolish · 11/01/2005 10:36

hi kelly i prefer Aakash anyway! Ravi is cool too

Kelly1978 · 11/01/2005 10:43

Hi nailpolish, I am seriously considering that combination, they mean sky and sun which is quite a nice match too!
my partner likes akshay tho, although he is also worried now!

bonkerz · 11/01/2005 10:46

well although my baby isnt due till august we have been ttc for well over 20 months so we already have the names ready!

Megan Carly for a girl and Reece for a boy!

nailpolish · 11/01/2005 10:50

I love the name Thea, really pretty.

They're Hindu names, nailpolish. My partner is Indian.

Bonkerz, we like Megan for a girl too, can't make up our minds for middle name though, we like Honey, Holly and Poppy, I really like Thea too, but we know a Thea so dp isn't so keen. Our favourite name for a boy is Jacob Adam. Our baby is due in May.

nailpolish · 11/01/2005 11:07

kelly, i bet you will know which name you prefer when you see your baby. we had 2 names we really liked and couldnt decide, then when she was born we chose the one which we suited her the most!

good luck with the pg x

Kelly1978 · 11/01/2005 11:08

Hi Lockets, middle names aren't very common for gujarati Indians, and we've found it really hard to find two names, which work together for twins so four would be impossible!

It's difficult, because I want something easily pronouncable, and sounds ok when said with an english accent.

My partner is called rishi, which seems easy enuff, but he's been called all sorts from Ritchi to Rasher!!

nailpolish · 11/01/2005 11:09

kelly , i meant to say babies !

Kelly1978 · 11/01/2005 11:11

Thanks nailpolish.

At the moment they are nicknamed paneer and muttar (cheese and peas), a joke cos of the craze for naming babies after food. My partner has been trying to allocate names, but I want to see when they come out as to who suits which name.

dont mean to be a bore but i had a name picked out since before i was pg which i had always loved. when i got pg i told everyone the name. my cousin, who was due before me, had her baby a few days before i did and she called her baby that name. she had known about me wanting the name and she was very smug about it. i hardly speak to her now, she is a cow.

anyway, my 2nd pg i didnt tell anyone at all my chosen names.

just a word of warning, although you probably dont have a bitch of a cousin like me

ps dd1 suits the new name dh picked out for her better anyway!

Kelly1978 · 11/01/2005 12:29

Oooh that's nasty!
I have several bitchy cousins, but none of them are expecting yet!!

I called my ds Jack Elliot and my mate went and called hers Jack Ellis which I thought was rather a wierd thing to do, but at least I got there first!

starlover · 11/01/2005 15:41

nailpolish.. i can't believe she did that! that is SO mean!
I don't have any friends/cousins/anyone else expecting at the moment so I think I'll be ok.
and I wouldn't really mind if anyone on here wanted to use "my" names either

Hello everyone, I'm 15 wks pregnant at the mo and already has DS 15 months old. We've definitely decided on Juliet for a girl but are unsure about a boys name as we want it to go with George, our current favourite is Albert. I'd be interested in anyones thoughts on this as we have decided not to tell anyone the names until the birth.

PlainFlum · 11/01/2005 16:11

Juliet will always be Jools, which is nice.

As for below, Linus - cute he's the one in Peanuts with the security blanket isn't he. Nice name.

I don't mind Juliet being shortened as I think Jools is a nice name but am unsure of Albert as I love the name and I don't mind Al but can't stand the thought of Albie of Bert- sounds crazy I know but I just like Albert - maybe I need to rethink!
