What do you think? and any alternatives or middle name ideas please.

I don't know why but it conjures up a rather unpleasant old lady for me.

Thanks, I'd always pronounced it as Enid (e in eggs) in my head and i don't think i've heard it said loud.

NurkMagiggy · 03/05/2008 08:37

It reminds me of an elderly librarian I used to work for and that writer eho freaked me out as a child with her moralistic racist weird books.
I'm really sorry but I can't like it...trying here, honestly

Mind you please don't let me stop you - everyone hates my children's names!!!

I have never heard it pronounced e as in eggs, the famous one is Enid Blyton(ee as in beech). I think that you would have to explain every single time if you pronounced it differently.

I do that Cristina. Like 'enveloped' and 'awry'. Oh, and 'automaton'. Got laughed at each time I tried them out for the first time (at about age 31!).

Yuck.

I love Edith and I even like Ethel. Enid is very Sadie Frost, but not a pretty sound
imo

not pretty at all
