NOAH or OSCAR, which one would you choose

not me but for a friend

she is due to give birth any day and is convinced it is a boy, these are the two names she loves but she cant decide between them.

she cant use them both as she wants to give her dads name as a middle name.

she has a normal plain last name and her dad has a normal plain name as well, which one would you go for.

Oscar. Noah is too biblical for me.

vicsta · 17/04/2008 18:09

Oscar at a push. Like them both v much

Dottydot · 17/04/2008 18:10

Noah. It's ds1's middle name and I love it - kind of wish we'd gone for it as his first name.

kerryk · 17/04/2008 18:12

i like them both as well so not much good to her.

Oscar

Ledodgy · 17/04/2008 18:20

Oscar.

CeilingCat · 17/04/2008 18:21

Noah, on the basis that there's an Oscar on Eastenders at the moment (actually I think both names are lovely).

dylanthecat · 17/04/2008 18:22

Noah definetly

lizzythemonkey · 17/04/2008 18:23

Both good but would go for Oscar

MadameCh0let · 17/04/2008 18:23

Oscar. Noah is too linked to the Ark in my mind, which is not terrible, it's just not for me.

They are both a little trendy but Oscar is a stronger sound. NOah is a little weak-sounding to be a boys name. JMO

pointydog · 17/04/2008 18:27

Oscar

TheRealMrsOsborne · 17/04/2008 18:28

I love both but would go for Noah as it's not as popular

dizzydixies · 17/04/2008 18:29

noah

oscar the grouch springs to mind even though its lovely

MadameCh0let · 17/04/2008 18:31

Ask her what she thinks of Victor. I think Victor will be the new Oscar.

It's in that borderline youmustbejoking grey area now. Give it five years.

pointydog · 17/04/2008 18:32

I've always had a soft spot for Victor. And Vincent.

pointydog · 17/04/2008 18:32

especially Vincent

Both, could not decide.

toratora · 17/04/2008 18:38

Noah, but only because we have got a pony called Oscar - I like them both!

moondog · 17/04/2008 18:39

Spot on MadameCholet.

Keep clear of Old Testamnet nmaes unless Jewish.
Oscar is the name of that vain mincing offspring of Barry Humphries which is sufficinet to provoke kneejerk reaction of 'God noooooo way!'

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/04/2008 18:40

don't like Oscar

DarthVader · 17/04/2008 18:41

Noah is v popular in these parts

Janni · 17/04/2008 18:41

Noah
