Alice, unless you're Welsh then Alys.

@Marylou62 , I have a friend called Marc. Because Mark is so common in his age group, he isn't Marc with a c, he is always Marc Surname. He's not fussed if it gets written as Mark. His surname is unusual.

Alice is popular and has never fallen from use, so Alys would probably be as you say 'Alys with a y'.

Alys is the most common spelling in Wales but not by much. OP is probably not Welsh-speaking or living in Wales. (I'm guessing from the middle names, apologies if I'm wrong)

Alice

It will just be so annoying for her otherwise

If you ask me, Alys is weird. No idea why "Alys" even exists when its a perfectly good old school English name and there is a perfectly good traditional English spelling available. (Someone on here said Alys its Welsh - sorry if I offend any Welsh people but it doesn't sound like the OP is Welsh).

Based on previous posters Alys was the original spelling in England so you equally say why does Alice even exist.

Well it was changed to Alice and it was Alice for centuries, why go back to medieval times unless you are being eccentric?

I think Alice with Catherine Victoria. But Alys is lovely in itself. It’s just personal preference. And heritage (sometimes).
