Looking for a sibling name to work with Edith

Who knew it would be so hard to find a name to fit with our daughters: Edith Isla! We quite like older/slightly unique names but any help would be appreciated please!

For girls so far we have: Aubrey, Alba, Wren, Esme, Freya, Nell, Elodie.

For boys: Axel, Otto, Albie, Atticus, Barnaby

Sorry posted twice.

I was also going to suggest Hazel and Harriet. Some Harriets are Ettie or Etta as a Nn which is quite cute with Edith ( or Edie).

Sheeparelooseagain · 16/08/2024 11:43

The Edith in my family had siblings called Daisy, Maud, Albert and William.

RuthW · 16/08/2024 12:24

All of your names are very modern and popular except Freya which is a bit dated.

They all go with Edith though.

I'd go with Atticus and Wren.

I love Joyce!

Esther
Josephine
I think these two need to be viewed afresh without prejudice but Beryl and Phyllis are absolutely beautiful names.

Thank you everyone. I wasn’t quite expecting such mixed responses! But these have given me lots of ideas to work with.
Ada is our dogs name otherwise I’d love that as an option. Nancy seemed popular amongst you all but is a friends child’s name so no can do.

I like Nell a lot, though better as a short form of Eleanor / Ellen / Helen. I like Freya too. Wren I don’t like. Rest are ok.

Not Otto. As a PP says, obv no fault of the Frankses in any way but it's such a sad association.

Atticus, fine if you love it but if you want something that 'goes' with Edith, I don't think this is it, too fussy.

I love the name Wren. For some reason it still has the vintage feel that Edith has, also unique but not crazy.

I think Edith and Atticus sounds lovely.

Calliopespa · 17/08/2024 17:58

I think Henry or Albert goes quite well with Edith. ( I like Bertie for short !)

Other very “ legit” names from that era are Vera, Vida or Vita, Lavinia and Rose.

Crunchymum · 20/08/2024 13:08

I know two little Edith's.

One has siblings called Beatrix and George and the other has a baby sister called Martha.

I agree. I like those names with Edith.

edited to add: I’m sooo sorry oP! I just agreed with my own post. 🙈 Ignore! 🤣

I love the suggestion of Beatrix and Ada (shame.its your dog!)
Edith is such a beautiful and distinct name I would go to the effort of being historically accurate and pick another name of the same era (Titanic passenger list and minor characters of Downton).
Eliza and Lucille (or Lucy) would be nice, Margaret as well.
