I had an interview at a school once where all the staff were known by their initials. Fine for one, KT, however another was GG. And unfortunately really did resemble a horse.

I was in 7DV at school, we were named with teacher initials. It was years later I realised why Ms Davies (not real name) used DV not VD.

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have two kids with the first initial ‘R’, R Swash! Hope it’s double barrelled.

I worked with a guy whose surname was Mangin, his first name started with A so his system login was ‘Mangina’. I used to make me snigger when I saw it logged into the printer…he was a total dick!

Dsis is IB-S and her DD AB-S, I have IBS so I’ve always felt it was a little close to home and grim!

Cattenberg · 16/07/2024 02:13

I used to know a FROG.

I hope there’s no connection. My ds is CJD, and it has been said that I’m a mad cow!

Not an unfortunate one, but I met a little boy who was ELF, born in December. Thought it was so sweet!

Initials are never used ever.

So most of you would have had to put the initials together to see what word they spell.

It's weird.

At secondary school we had to have our initials embroidered on our PE skirts, in house colours.

My friend’s employer uses 3-4 initials for staff email addresses. My friend doesn’t have a middle name, so was asked to choose a letter to go between her first and last initials.

NewGreenDuck · 16/07/2024 16:02

Not initials but I went to school with, A Titt. He was too. The register was called that way, initial and last name. Lots of sniggering every day.

I've never noticed someone's initials or known their middle names!

WeeOrcadian · 16/07/2024 16:22

I once dealt with a very 'manly man' whose initials were MARY

He was a prick too

TulipCat · 16/07/2024 16:23

Not initials exactly but I have a school friend who was called Claire Jones. She married a man whose surname was Hunt so became Mrs C Hunt.

dizzydizzydizzy · 16/07/2024 16:26

I know a Tim with initials TIM. He is cross with his parents. I think it's ok.

Victoria Derbyshire has the initials VD.

In Germany, it's taboo if you have a surname beginning with S to give a child a first name beginning with S.

As @Cattenberg said, I had to embroider initials on school PE kit (state school).

There are all sorts of pieces of paperwork at work I have to sign with my initials.
