Honest opinions on the following girls names please?!

Or any suggestions because I have had enough of looking and trying to find something I like. Really want something pretty/cute but not massively popular :/

I’ve never heard of ettilie! I know two girls called Etty though, one of whom is actually Ethel.

what about Etta? Short for Henrietta perhaps?

I have an slightly unusual name (nothing crazy), and I love it even in my 40's.

Ettilie (Ettie) - looks like you didn't know how to spell Ottilie
Pixie - a lot to live up to
Rune - don't like it
Wren - don't like it
Nell (Nellie?) - I like Nell.

Love nell and ettile also love Ottile if that's a consideration.

Pixie isn't great for an adult

DD has Ettie as a nickname, so we obviously like it, but I’m not convinced by Ettilie - agree with pps that it sounds like you liked Ottilie but wanted to be different. There are other ways of getting to Ettie: Arietty, Esther, Juliet, Greta, Etta, Cosette… Like @modgepodge I also know an Etty who was named for an Ethel.

Your other names aren’t really my style tbh, especially Pixie - I do quite like Nell but would only use it as a nickname for Eleanor/Helena.

I firmly think that cutesy, unusual names are for nicknames. On their birth certificate give them a classic, solid name.

Pixie and Nellie are becoming really popular where I live and there are several in dc primary and secondary schools.

Nell is lovely. I don't like any of the others. Ettie is quite nice (would you consider Etta?), but Ettillie sounds like someone who misheard Ottillie. Pixie is going to be an equally bad idea on a little wisp of a girl, or on a big, strapping athletic type. I think Wren is twee.

I really dislike Wren, it’s so harsh sounding, twee and faddy. Can’t work out why it’s so popular.

Ettilie just sounds like you’ve put a twist on Ottilie to try and be different.

Pixie isn’t a name for an adult.

Her real name is Bernadette though; Pixie is a nickname that stuck somehow. It's only a nickname imo unless you're naming a pet.

I like Bernadette, and it could be Ettie.
Gwenevere is as bad as Ettile. The name is Guinevere.
Gwen's quite nice, but not if short for a misspelt name.
Pixie as a nickname isn't too bad.

Ettie is cute but Ettilie might be mistaken for the more popular Ottilie, if you don't mind. I'd personally go for Etta or a longer nicknameable name like Henrietta or Josette for the Ettie nickname.

Nell is cute and usable, as is Wren.

Rune I think is a bit too woo for my taste though I think Rue is very sweet.

Please don't do Pixie, I have actually come across a child with this name and felt so sorry for her. It's a name that's talked about for the wrong reasons I think.

I absolutely love Nell / Nellie. And really like Wren. Ettilie is pretty but might get confused with Ottilie, if that would bother you? Ettie is gorgeous. Not keen on Rune or Pixie.

Alifair - it means elf and Elfie is a super cute nn.

Wren is nice, as is Nell. While they aren’t super commonplace, (so Wren might get occasionally get misspelt if people don’t realise it’s like the bird or Nell might get asked sometimes if it’s short for something like Eleanor or Helena) they are still well known names and I think they would suit all ages and backgrounds.

Ettilie looks invented and will be constantly misspelt (If you just want nn Etty then Juliet is not that popular? Or Colette), Rune will only work well if she turns out to be the alternative/goth/hippy type and Pixie is a cute nn for a toddler but not ideal on most adults.

Yep I just hear it as an old Swedish man’s name having known someone with it growing up!
