I'm confused by those asserting it's a Jewish name. The Old Testament is also commonly used for Christian/non Christian names - see Noah, Jacob, Joseph, Ben etc yet none of those would be labelled a Jewish name.

I agree, I have an old testament name and I have never been asked if I'm jewish. As you say why would Reuben be considered to be a more Jewish name than names like Benjamin, Ruth, Sarah ect

I think there are probably more Daniels than Reubens in society. I think there are probably more pressing risks to society than people's choice of name...

I have one, age 20. Never been asked about the Jewish connection.
He likes it, the biggest issue he has is people getting spelling 'wrong' due to there being 2 versions.
I always thought it would become more popular.

@Bluedragon86 , because names like David and Sarah have been mainstream in the UK for a long time. A Reuben or Esther my age would probably have parents who were religious.
