Would you name a baby it's starsign

Due a baby boy in July and have been having a debate with my friends, I'm super into star signs and if the baby is late he will be a Leo. Is it weird to call him Leo if he's a Leo or is it weirder to call him Leo if he is on time and a Cancer, but a few days shy of being a Leo 😂

Most people won't know what his birthday is, let alone his starsign. So, just use name you like.

ZipZapZoom · 09/04/2024 10:25

I'd be very surprised if anyone gave it even the smallest of thoughts. I've met plenty of Leo's and never once thought I wonder if that's also their star sign. It's just a name.

TheBirdintheCave · 09/04/2024 10:25

I think you're over thinking this. I'm sure there are hundreds of Leonardos/Leopolds etc who are born under the star sign Leo.

Twiglets1 · 09/04/2024 10:26

Leo is nice whenever he's born but Capricorn isn't so great.

EndlessVortex · 09/04/2024 10:26

Leo is a popular name, I don’t think anyone will assume it’s because of his star sign! So just go ahead and use it.

My FIL is in fact a Cancer named Leo!

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 09/04/2024 10:26

I think either is fine. (I mean also if he's born under Cancer, not name him Cancer!). For a moment I thought you were going to say Sagittarius or something. Leo is a great name.

Hoppinggreen · 09/04/2024 10:26

My daughter, Cancer, has never had an issue with it

Kasperber · 09/04/2024 10:28

Not weird at all as most people do not pay much or any attention to star signs. If you like the name Leo, I’d not let the fact that he might not be a Leo, influence your decision. If he is actually born under that sign, then that’s an added bonus for you.

Cinai · 09/04/2024 10:28

Leo is great regardless of when he’s born, but I would steer clear of other star signs for names.

Flopsy145 · 09/04/2024 10:32

Thank you all, agree Leo is the only star sign name I would use. I am also in fact a Leo but was due to be a cancer (star sign not name) so I wonder if that is why I'm overthinking it 😂 I'm also the main one out of my family and friendship group who is very into star signs so even though I may think about these things it seems the general populace wouldn't which is reassuring!

Sagittarius gets annoyed with her name sometimes but Pisces loves hers....

Universalfamily · 09/04/2024 10:33

You could run into a problem if you have multiples. Will they be called Virgo and Virgin or Aries and Ram if twins? Or Gemini, Twins and Binary for triplets?

HoppingPavlova · 09/04/2024 10:34

Why on earth would you think anyone would make the connection of the name Leo and astrology. You being ‘super into it’ is really quite particular to you in relation to the greater population. I can assure you there will be many many Leon/Leonore(e)/Leonard/Leonardo/Leopold/Leo’s born in Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec. No one, ever, is going to stand about and debate their names due to being born in/not being born in a month related to the star sign Leo.

Hopefully, I’m the only one relieved you child has no chance of being born a Virgo or Cancer, or actually pretty much any of the others if you are associating your passion with names.

vincettenoir · 09/04/2024 10:34

No

Orangexhest · 09/04/2024 10:49

I doubt most people would make the star sign connection, it’s my sons middle name and I’ve never thought about it in relation to starsigns, just Lion 🦁. If you’re into starsigns then it’s quite fitting to name him Leo, whether born as a Leo or not! Just maybe not something like Scorpio though 😅

Moreteaandchocolate · 09/04/2024 10:52

Leo is a lovely name and definitely a great choice, whenever he is born :)

SmoggyCarolSecondComing · 09/04/2024 10:52

I named my second daughter Cancer, what's wrong with that? Just the third middle name though.

RoseAndRose · 09/04/2024 10:54

Leo's fine and is definitely a name not just a star sign.

Gemini sounds like a Bond girl, and Scorpio like a Bond villain.

CurlewKate · 09/04/2024 10:57

Sorry-just off to have coffee with Capricorn and Pisces. Nobody thinks their names are odd at all.......

It's absolutely fine. No one will make the connection unless you tell them. Many people are completely uninterested in star signs. In fact, I genuinely don't know what star sign my own children are and no one's ever asked me!

Flopsy145 · 09/04/2024 11:06

@SallyWD as a contrast I was doing my daughter's birth chart when still in hospital with her 😂 different strokes for different folks

I actually know a Leo star sign Leo. It's fine. It's an actual name after all!

BigPretty · 09/04/2024 11:31

I really like the name Leo and wouldn't think of the star sign if I met one. I guess Virgil or Virginia for Virgo?

I'm a scorpio though and would obviously hate to be called that - sounds like a super villain 🧐😂

Crikeyalmighty · 09/04/2024 11:33

Leo is a great name -

CointreauVersial · 09/04/2024 11:34

Coincidentally, if DD2 had been a boy she would have been Leo. It was just a name I liked. It was only afterwards that I realised that is also her star sign.

If you like the name, go for it, regardless of when he arrives.
