Would you name a baby it's starsign

Due a baby boy in July and have been having a debate with my friends, I'm super into star signs and if the baby is late he will be a Leo. Is it weird to call him Leo if he's a Leo or is it weirder to call him Leo if he is on time and a Cancer, but a few days shy of being a Leo 😂

Leo is nice whenever he's born but Capricorn isn't so great.

I mean, as a Capricorn with a Leo kid............................................. You are totally, one million percent correct 😂

Leo is a good name but I don't think any of the other star signs would be. Call him Leo if you like it whenever he is born. Most people won't give it a moment's thought.

Quite glad I’m not called Taurus 😁 Leo is fine, though.

DuchessOfSausage · 09/04/2024 11:51

I know a few Leos and an Aries. I've never wondered about their star signs.

FlyingPizzaMonkey · 09/04/2024 12:19

I’m not sure I’ve ever wondered about anyone’s starsign.

It's usually one of my first thoughts trying to place their star sign 😂

It wouldn't occur to me that Leo related to a star sign tbh.

If I named my DC after their star signs they'd be Leo and Libra-Scorpio (born on the cusp so his star sign varies depending on what you read)

AGodawfulsmallaffair · 09/04/2024 15:22

Leo is a great name, thank fuck he’s not a Sagittarius.

BrummieCahoots · 09/04/2024 15:28

Glad I'm not named Cancer !

Haha I wouldn't use another star sign name and not actually looking to use Leo because it's a star sign, just looking for the general consensus on him also then being a Leo or close to a Leo. Looks like consensus is heavily weighted in the good to go direction!

Water Bearer and Crab feel left out.

It’s a lovely name - and I haven’t met many of them, which is always a plus!

Vicliz24 · 09/04/2024 15:46

I've got a Leo , he's a Pisces . He's also 39 it's very popular now

MirandaBlu · 09/04/2024 16:07

I remember reading some "advice" about baby names that are also months, which suggested avoiding using the name if the baby is born IN that month or either adjacent month. So, a baby "June" born in August through April is cool, a June born in May (premature?), June (couldn't think of a name?), or July (tardy?) is not. Keep in mind, though, that (1) most people will associate Leo with the boy's name rather than the sun sign and (2) apart from others interested in astrology (or trivia buffs) who can remember the exact dates for Leo or any other sign anyway?

My sign is a downmarket American car model (Taurus), so probably glad my parents didn't use it.

DuchessOfSausage · 09/04/2024 16:15

@MirandaBlu , I'd ignore that advice. Most people IMO would expect a June to be born in June etc.

westcountrywoman · 09/04/2024 16:27

Yes for Leo. No for Virgo / Scorpio / Aquarius etc.

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/04/2024 16:58

Leo is a great name, DS (20) told
Me the other day that's his future boy's name. Hopefully a long way in the future.
Leo was also one of my favourite ever pupils.

PuttingDownRoots · 09/04/2024 17:06

No one thinks anything of an April or May. So why a Leo?

But you wouldn't name the baby January or Taurus.

I wanted a girl called Gemini when I was a teenager, still think its a bit cool.

Flopsy145 · 09/04/2024 18:00

So I asked my DH who is not into star signs and he said "weird if he's not a Leo though" FFS 😂 I'll ignore him
