Looking for inspiration! DH is Danish.
We've already a DS with a fairly common Danish/Swedish name.
Would love some suggestions, both boys and girls.
Left-field suggestions which may not have made it into the most popular rankings lists.
Might go for a common one as the primary name, and a more radical choice for middle name :-)

Tak! ❤️

I read that Kara Tointon has/had a Scandinavian partner and their sons were called Frey & Helly.

I quite like both although think I'd go for Helly as a girls name.

I am not Danish, but Scandinavian.
I really like the Danish girls name Lykke which means happiness.
My DS is called August.

Mia, Freya, Emma?

Worried these might not be as obviously scandi as I'd like?

I worked with a Scandinavian lady called Malin which I always thought was pretty. Also I remember a singer called Lene Malin from Scandi somewhere. Lots of pretty names to choose from.

What sort of 'scandi' do you like? What sort of vibe? Will the child be half-British, and where will you be living?
Apologies for posting a link but the Danish people I know and are adults so the names are probably dated or they aren't particularly Danish (e.g. Caroline, Chris).
Not sure a non-Danish Scandinavian name would go down well with your in-laws.

Whatisityoucantface · 07/04/2024 19:26

I met a baby girl Freydis recently, which has really grown on me. It’s great!
I also like Leif for a boy

We're living in the UK. The in-laws won't mind anything - they didn't even give their own children Danish names! Just standard English ones 😂
