Beatrice is so beautiful

Report
sarahsunny · 29/03/2024 00:40

Beatrice - ok
Isabel - very common
Amelie - ok, a bit twee
Lara - love! Beautiful but also strong
Sasha - can sometimes be a girl or boy name- I wouldn't want that confusion
Maia - veeeery overdone atm
Francesca - don't like the nicknames
Cecily - love!
Maeve - hmm bit frumpy
Charlotte - ok
Anna - love! Both elegant and strong
Harriet - frumpy to me

So my favourites are Lara, Cecily or Anna Smile Beautiful choices.

Beatrice - I like but don’t really like Bea
Isabel - Nice
Amelie - ok, prefer Amelia
Lara - ok, prefer Lana
Sasha ok
Maia -not keen and pronounciation issues
Francesca - like
Cecily -really don’t like
Maeve - not keen and heard of a crazy amount being born recently
Charlotte - love Lottie as a shortening (if use lottie then favourite on your list)
Anna -classic name, cant really go wrong with it

My favourites from your list are Lara, Maia, Anna and Maeve - short, simple, pretty for all ages, not easily shortened. Ooh and Harriet - a personal favourite of mine!

Love pp suggestions of Emma and Rose too.

I also like Sasha, Florence and Amelie (although may get misheard as Emily).

Beatrice, Charlotte and Francesca are pretty names as long as you’re happy with the potential shortenings (Bea / Charlie / Lottie / Frankie).

Isabel - too overused.

I’m not keen on Cecily because of the potential shortening to Cess or CeCe (not keen on either).

As a mum of a teen - everyone’s name gets shortened in comp, and not always in the way their parents planned!

Other ideas -

Alice
Lucy
Georgia
Clara
Imogen
Abigail
Jessica
Madeleine

Great list!

Beatrice - it's ok. One of my least favourite on the list but it's a good name to take a child through life - Bea is cute.

Isabel - love it. Yes, it's popular but that's because it's a gorgeous name. Like Izzy too.

Amelie - quite like it. Much prefer it to Amelia, it's softer and prettier.

Lara - love it. One of my favourite girl names and so underused.

Sasha - like it. Quite uncommon too.

Maia - really like it if pronounced My-a. If May-a I'm less keen as it just sounds like May with a weird add on.

Francesca - love it but wouldn't want it to become Frankie. Kessa or Chesca maybe

Cecily - not keen but it's elegant.

Maeve - quite like it. I think I'd assume you were Irish.

Charlotte - love it. Another one of my favourite names. I like the full name though, wouldn't want to shorten it.

Anna - like it. Simple but pretty and timeless.

Harriet - it's ok. A bit harsh sounding. Hattie is cute.

I would choose Charlotte or Lara.

In a similar vein:
Abigail, Annabel, Amy, Alice, Alexandra, Bronte, Beatrix, Bethany, Cassandra, Clarissa, Constance, Claire, Emma, Eleanor, Evelyn, Felicity, Florence, Georgina, Georgia, Grace, Gabriella, Henrietta, Hannah, Imogen, Isabella, Iris, Joanna, Jessica, Juliet, Katherine, Leah, Lydia, Lucy, Miranda, Matilda, Madeleine, Melissa, Martha, Maria, Natasha, Natalie, Olivia, Phoebe, Philippa, Rebecca, Rhiannon, Rosanna, Romilly, Sarah, Samantha, Sophie, Sophia, Tamara, Thea, Victoria, Vanessa, Verity, Zara

Beatrice - nice
Isabel - nice but lots of Isabella, Isabelle, Isabel and Isobels
Amelie - seems dated. Lots of Amelia and Emilys
Lara - nice but nothingy. Laura is nicer
Sasha - ok
Maia - meh
Francesca - ok
Cecily - ok
Maeve - meh
Charlotte - nice
Anna - like. Works internationally, no spelling issues, not frilly
Harriet - like, best of the bunch but prefer Emma

Great list and congratulations 🥳

I’m a teacher so some now’s are in every class and to be honest the small changes of an Isobel as opposed to Isabella are one and the same

Beatrice
Isabel - between that and Isabella so overdone
Amelie - love it but also a lot of Amelia’s
Lara - love it
Sasha - don’t like as it’s a Russian boys name
Maia - not sure how to say so she will have a life of correcting people
Francesca - meh
Cecily - dislike
Maeve - everywhere overdone
Charlotte - love
Anna- my favourite ❤️

Your list has both of my DD's names and middle names so obviously we have similar taste! The only name on your list that I don't like is Sacha (I think of it as a Russian diminutive of Alexander). I do like Saskia though which is somewhat similar.
What's your preferred style overall? Traditional English/ European classic? Short and sweet? More international? Does popularity bother you- it definitely does some posters but not others?

Maia - not sure how to say so she will have a life of correcting people

The correct pronunciation is MY:ah

However the correcting can be an issue. Most people we generally meet get it right away but both sets of grandparents struggled for months (in fairness it was during covid and they didn't actually meet her for 2 years).
