Recently found out we are expecting our third baby girl. Our two girls are called Alice and May.

We have a list but none we can really use!!

  • Emily
  • Isabel (we could use this)
  • Eve
  • Lucy (DH less a fan)
  • Lydia
  • Emma

Does anyone have any other name suggestions we might like?

Alice and May are lovely names.

I thought Tilly first off. Then Belle, Hallie and Ella

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 04/03/2024 20:01

They’re all lovely! Lily is very popular locally to me atm, I know of 5 under 3. Not sure where all these names sit in the top 100 names but I know some people are put off by the more popular ones.

SadnessInMyIntestines · 04/03/2024 20:01

I think Emma, Daisy or Violet go better than Lily or Isabel from your shortlist

It's not something that really bothers us, DH is a teacher and I was, so with the exception of very unusual names we have met lots of children with lots of names. Some names we have met a few of (like Alice) but they have all been lovely so we view it well. One slightly more difficult child might have ruined an other wise lovely and less popular name permanently though!!

Betty
Harriet (Hatty)
Joy
Susanna

Guavafish1 · 04/03/2024 20:06

Violet

sciencemama · 04/03/2024 20:11

Alice, May and Hazel
Alice, May and Jane
Alice, May and Claudia
Alice, May and Samantha

FuglySweaty · 04/03/2024 20:13

@Kolie definitely Emma from the shortlist! It sounds really lovely alongside the other names. (Think Daisy and May sound too samey due to the “ai” sound)

SummerOf46 · 04/03/2024 20:17

Alice, May and Gemma, Phoebe, Katie, Jasmin, Eleanor (Ella), Hallie

JustMaggie · 04/03/2024 20:17

I like Alice, May and Isabel. Also, Alice, May, and Rose.

Ihavenoclu · 04/03/2024 20:18

I thought Rose straight away

I think we have similar tastes! I have an Alice and a Lucy!

Emma is one of my all time favourite names and it was between Emma and Lucy for our second girl, we just decided she looked more like a Lucy when she was born.

My second favourite from your shortlist is Lily, it sounds great with your sibling names and has the same simple, pretty sound, and works for all ages.

Isabel is lovely but too overused around where we live (when you include all the spelling variations).

Violet is nice and refreshing sounding, and I think works better for all ages than Daisy (which I’m not sure I could carry off personally as an adult!)

itsgettingweird · 04/03/2024 20:21

Charlotte
Grace
Beatrice
Pheobe
Willow

kenadams86 · 04/03/2024 20:22

My first thought was Charlotte.

I really like Lucy too.

Florence
Layla
Ava
Harriet
Mabel

MsMarple · 04/03/2024 20:23

I think you need 3 syllables (just sounds right!) and Violet would be lovely!

itsgettingweird · 04/03/2024 20:23

From your list

Daisy
Isobel
Lily

(In that order)

Illpickthatup · 04/03/2024 20:28

Ruby

DrJoanAllenby · 04/03/2024 20:59

Ruby.

Bunnie007 · 04/03/2024 21:01

As with PP my immediate thought was Beatrice

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 04/03/2024 21:05

From your list I think Emma

But I really love Lucy and Sophie too (so please have another two girls, thanks!).
