What do you think about the name Aubrey for a girl?

I think it's a boy's name and only given to girls in ignorance.

I know two Aubreys, both are baby girls under two.

I know one Aubrey. He would be about 100 now if he was still alive (he’s probably not.) Not keen sorry.

I have an Aubrey. She's 4. Never once been asked why we have her a boys name. Only been confused for Audrey once.

It's dire. Just a very unattractive name.

Lol you realize lots of girls names were once boys names? Would you say the same about Lesley, Kelly, Ashley, Beverley, Stacey, Whitney….the list goes on. I think you’re the one that sounds ignorant!

Aubrey will always be the appalling and daft character in Life is Sweet for me. Not the best association.

I really like it, only know of one and she’s a little girl about 5-6 now. Much prefer it for a girl than a boy. I don’t think it would commonly be mistaken for Audrey, on the odd occasion it might, it’s easy to correct

The only one I know has the surname Brown. The double 'br' sound just makes it even worse.

Aubrey is a man’s name. Specifically, a red-faced, claret slurping old man who wears pink trousers with a navy blazer & his old school tie, down which he has spilled his soup. He idolises Margaret Thatcher, supports UKIP and thinks fox hunting should be legalised again.

As pp have said, it is a boy's name. I think people get muddled with Audrey.
Call her Audrey, it's a nice name.

I’d not heard of it until a few years ago and then an American tv show I watch had a strong female called Aubrey and I thought it was a great name

I like it, There's a girl on Teen Mom 2 (guilty pleasure trash tv) who has a little girl called Aubery.

I think it's a lovely name for a boy. I get a bit sad when the traditional prettier boys names end up being used for girls. Soon we will have nothing left but John and Jaiden left for boys lol.

People co-opt boys' names for girls because they're higher status.
You'd never get a boy called Audrey, yet here we have girls called Aubrey!
