What do you think to the name Dean? Dated or due a comeback?

A brother for Torvill.

What happened to Nigel and Gary?

Will they ever make a come back?

I say yes name him Dean, or Nigel or Gary.

Oddly the only Dean I’ve ever met is in his 80s, so born in the late 1930s. His parents were clearly ahead of the curve if everyone else associates it with the 1980s! He’s lovely, but it’s an awful name I’m afraid…

Not to my liking.

Choice for my second if been a boy.

Yes Dean Is a lovely name. As is Joel which I was thinking of yesterday. A nice refreshing change from the names of the day Alfie, Theo, Teddy et al

Dean, Lee, Darrell, Darren, Lance. They're all the same person.

I like it as I love Dean Stockwell as an actor and Dean Cain as a person.

Soooo dated, and also never a particularly good name.

It's probably due a comeback. Jason is already back in vogue as is Colin so don't see why Dean shouldn't.

I actually really like it. I like short, 1 syllable names for bots. I don't really know if it is dated as I'm in my mid thirties and have never actually met a Dean

I hate the name Dean. It’s dated, the ones I’ve known in my life have all been the type that lose in life, and also I don’t really like very short names.

I'd assume Supernatural fan. (Which is not a bad thing)

What about Dene and then it's got more of a nature theme?

Dene looks feminine. There's a village near me called (something) Dean. I think the dean is the same as dene.

I quite like Dean as a name, but it does seem a bit dated and I'd expect a Dean to have friends/brothers called Lee and Scott.
