Hi everyone, I am expecting a baby girl and have narrowed my name list down to 2 names which I love equally! Please help me decide!

Winslow nn Winnie
Cecelia nn Cece

At this point I’m wishing it was twins just so I can use both! How do I decide?!

Cece

DinaofCloud9 · 06/01/2024 19:21

Winslow and Winnie are awful so definitely Cecelia.

InvisibleDuck · 06/01/2024 19:21

Cecelia, although like a pp I'd spell it Cecilia.

I don't like Winslow as a first name at all. Sounds like a place or a surname, and also I see 'win slow' when I look at it written.

JingleSnowmanTree · 06/01/2024 20:07

To be honest, I'm not wildly keen on cecelia, but it's 100% better than Winslow.

Winnie is kind of cute, but I'd use Winifred.

absolutely not Winslow, people will assume a boy.

she'll be gorgeous whatever you call her xx
best wishes for a good birth x

Gallyy · 06/01/2024 20:08

Cece is such a cute nickname so I’d go Cecilia

Purplecatshopaholic · 06/01/2024 20:09

Winslow?? It’s not a girls name. On that basis, go with the other (still awful but at least a girls name) one..

sunglassesonthetable · 06/01/2024 20:19

Winslow . I wasn't going to say it but what @mathanxiety said. Sorry.

Whereas really like Cecilia.

SirChenjins · 06/01/2024 20:23

Definitely Cecelia - Winslow sounds like a place and Winnie is a noise that a horse makes/the Pooh.

PurpleReindeer2 · 06/01/2024 20:24

Not Winslow

Greentomatoes21 · 06/01/2024 20:26

Ceceila.

I know two children called just "Celia", which I prefer. Both still get Cece.

Consideringachange2023 · 06/01/2024 20:30

Winslow sounds like a range of Sofas, sorry. “The stunning Winslow range combines traditional style with modern comfort”

Winnie is very cute though.

Cecilia is lovely, you should spell it the original name or all her stuff will be incorrect her whole life (cards, name places, invitations etc). CeCe is a nice nn for a young girl

DesertSnow · 06/01/2024 20:51

Like Winnie but not Winslow (makes me think of Hounslow)

NamingConundrum · 06/01/2024 20:53

Personally not a fan of either, but if you're planning on using Winnie or Cece then name her that rather than giving her a name that she never uses!

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 06/01/2024 21:14

Workawayxx · 06/01/2024 19:10

Cecelia is lovely although I prefer the Cecilia spelling. Not sure about Winslow, I prefer Winifred or Wilhelmina with Winnie as shortened version.

Please spell it properly - Cecilia. The name of the Saint. I always assume parents who spell it Cecelia are a bit thick 🤷🏼‍♀️

OutYerEd · 06/01/2024 21:15

Winslow is awful.

Cecelia is lovely.

GreatGateauxsby · 06/01/2024 21:16

Cecelia.

Catandsquirrel · 06/01/2024 21:18

Cecilia. Not Winslow. If you're stuck on Winnie then find another long version. I don't usually go so harsh but Winslow is awful.

Catandsquirrel · 06/01/2024 21:19

Cecilia spelt this way, not Cecelia is nicer too

WhiskersPete · 06/01/2024 21:26

Winslow Confused

DuchessOfSausage · 07/01/2024 19:12

Winslow nn Winnie.
Cecelia nn Cece.

Winnie is great, Winslowe makes me think of Onslow

Cecilia is fine. Cece- is it pronounced Cee-cee or Cessy? It's not good either way. Cecelia will get misspelt.

KnickerlessParsons · 07/01/2024 19:15

Winslow is bloody awful for a boy and even worse for a girl!
Cecilia is better, though i prefer Celia.

Throwawayme · 07/01/2024 19:17

Is Winslow a name? I liked a pp suggestion of Rowena for nn Winnie but Cecilia is lovely. (I'd not speli it Cecelia)

Honeybeebuzz · 07/01/2024 20:11

Winslow sounds very masculine so not a fan at all and I imagine your DD would not be happy in the future with that name.

Girlmumx2 · 07/01/2024 20:12

Cece is cute
