Our surname is pretty flexi and only one syllable (so isn't a mouthful!)

Anna has 2 syllables. Alba has three so yes, lots of a sounds.

DP has Scottish family but we will be pronouncing Al-ba

Kirkee made me lol!!!!

Unfortunately our female family names don't sound right and are very old school irish/Scottish. So no one I am leaning to name after....

I understand, just pointing out really to the poster that said Alba has 3 syllables, unless you are actually Scottish, one would just pronounce it as written!
