Eirinn is the dative case, not the nominative case. The nominative case is Eire. I wouldn't bother using an Irish language version of the popular name Erin, especially if you get it wrong, but in any event, I don't think Erin goes with James.

I like Flora best from your list.

mathanxiety · 20/10/2023 17:02

I like Harriet too.
You could use Ledia as a middle name.

nearlywinteragain · 20/10/2023 17:03

I like Flora and Tabitha

Cora or Erin are lovely

I don't understand the comments that the names need to 'go' - a name is for life and I'm sure no one cares what my brother is called!

Ellen
Rachel

Amelia

Erin is lovely but please get rid of the extra n

DuchessOfSausage · 21/10/2023 09:36

@HarLace1 , it's Eirinn not Erinn

joan12 · 21/10/2023 09:45

Is there Irish on your side? If going for an English vibe I'd agree with Harriet, Sophie, Laura, Emma. For Irish, Tara. I do also like Cora, Elva, Emma also seems popular in Ireland these days.

No, I don’t mean Lydia 🤣 it’s a family name on my husband’s side, his Albanian grandmother was Ledia.

I really like Ledia, I haven’t heard it before!

Brightredtulips · 21/10/2023 09:52

James and Annabelle

Underestimated4 · 21/10/2023 11:05

I wanted a Tabitha but my husband didn’t like it

Baba197 · 21/10/2023 12:06

None would be my choice- I like Martha, Mabel, Sophie/Sophia, evie, Grace, Maddie, Charlotte/Lottie, Alice to go with James

I like all of those names. Have only 2 comments - firstly perhaps don’t give Ledia as a first name because everyone will mishear it as Lydia and your poor girl will be correcting them for life.

Secondly please just pick a name you love, without worrying whether it ‘goes’ with a sibling. Nobody now asks me (or indeed has ever asked me or my parents) what my brother’s name is, to assess whether our names ‘go’ together. It’s kind of weird to imagine isn’t it?

Unless you have a Jaxon and you are wondering about the name Iphigenia for your daughter (the incongruity of which would make me properly cackle) I genuinely, genuinely don’t understand sibling name complementarity being an issue.

So name away! (I really love Tabitha)

ChlorrOfTheMask · 21/10/2023 21:00

Flora is my favourite of those names and I think it goes well with James 💗
Loads of negative, anglocentric comments here, for example I'm guessing Eirinn is the proper Irish spelling of Erin? and if folk get Ledia and Lydia mixed up that's their problem - it's manners to learn people's names correctly and it's a family name with heritage in another country, people would just need to get over their ignorance🤷 also don't get the comments saying none of these are classic names. Flora definitely is a classic name.

Palewildflower · 21/10/2023 22:05

Keep Lily on the Vito list. It’s a lovely name, but also the name of Harry Potters parents. So unless you’re die hard Harry Potter fans, I’d stay clear lol.

Cora is my personal favourite from your list. My niece is Cora and she’s such a wee character.

Slipslidinginthefray · 21/10/2023 22:09

Flora goes well
Tabitha does too but I don’t like it as much and I think flora sounds better with james

Harriet is a great fit also.

shoopshoopdedoo · 21/10/2023 22:49

James is my favourite boys’ name. I would use Alice for a girl. From your choices, I prefer Harriet, Helena and Tabitha. I like the previous suggestions of Sophie and Elizabeth.
