Baby girl name help!!

missylissy9 · 18/10/2023 17:21

Expecting our 4th child in December, a baby girl!! We already have 3 sons Hugo, Henri and Louis. The middle name is going to be Beatrice after a close family member but we are SO stuck on a first name. I thought after wanting a girl for so long it would be so easy but clearly not! We both like quite traditional names and DH's family speak French so a name that works with that as well (hence the boys names). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

P.S. Has anyone had any experience with a baby name consultant? Do you think it would be worth it??

Sibylla and Sidonie are the first two names that popped into my head.

Congratulations on baby number 4, your first DD!

Vivienne Beatrice.

Can Beatrice not be the first name - think it's lovely and goes well with your boys names.

No and no.
There are plenty of names that work, if you aren't too fussy with the different pronunciations.
Alice, Amelie, Claire, Isabelle, Edith, Elodie, Sophie, Louise, Marie, Michelle, ...
some might be a bit dated in France/UK.

FayCarew · 18/10/2023 17:53

@missylissy9 , Do you live in France?
Emma and Anna work in both countries, and are popular in France
Catherine and Charlotte are traditional.

Which English names do you like?
If you are truly stuck, how about a family name

Not Odette if you have French family. In fact, not Odette ever. It granny without the chic.

I love Clemence suggested by someone upthread.

FayCarew · 18/10/2023 18:49

Consider how they are said. Gisele for example isn't great in the UK.

@BeaLola Love Beatrice but a close family member named their DD Beatrice last year so we are going to use it as the middle name.

@FayCarew We don't live in France but spend all Summer there. DH speaks to the children in French and all of his family speak French so needs to work in both English and French.

Me and DH have but aren't 100% sure:
Cecily/Cecile Beatrice
Clementine Beatrice (not sure this works together)

Cecile Beatrice

Joceline Beatrice

I like Sidonie upthread too

Baby name consultant - that is mad. Download the app so you can match names

Much more important to love the first name than worry how it flows with middle name imo - Cecily and Clementine are both fabulous

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 18/10/2023 22:15

Estelle was the first name I thought of 😊

Charlotte Beatrice and Isabel/Isabella Beatrice were both combinations we considered for DD!

Cecily Beatrice is lovely, Clementine is a bit of a mouth full in my opinion

Other options I love are Celeste and Amelie
