Hello, everyone so I’ve narrowed down my list to these five after my last post. Now which one would you choose from my list and why? They’re all my favorite so it’s a bit difficult to decide. My partner loves Eva and I prefer other names. I’m leaning more towards Nina and Clara though.

Clara
Eva
Hannah
Lara
Nina

Obviously I like short names that end in ‘a’

Clara and Nina are my favourites.

Hannah (nn Nina if you want, tis traditional)

Clara - would be my favourite but it’s almost always CLAR-RUH these days so if you want the old fashioned CLAIR-uh don’t do it.

Lara - lovely but so many Lena/Leah/Lyra/Leila/Lila/Lola names.. Luna is looney. Don’t do that

Eva - lovely but truly done to death. How about Ida?

Nina - too babyish as a full name. It’s a pet form of Anna originally so you could use it as a nn for Hannah.

Quite like Jessica

Aphra
Tara
Stella
Esther
Oona
Honor
Francesca nn Franca or Chesca

Hannah

All your names are nice...
My favourite is Clara but I think that's tricky if you want to pronounce it with an air sound instead of ar. Because most people will say ar.
I like Nina and Lara next but probably Lara slightly more.
Eva is too popular, along with all the zillions of Evies and Eves and Evelyn's.
I find Hannah a bit boring.

Fivebeanchilli · 09/09/2023 10:51

Oh and I like Luna. I know several little girls with that name and they are all lovely.

Clara

My name is Hannah so that gets my vote.

Clara is also a cartoon cow to me.

Nina immediately makes me think of Nina Katz (a one episode character on SATC) so definitely not a baby name in my head.

Hannah

Clara is the least well known so I'd go with this as she'll be the only one in her class

Hannahismyname · 09/09/2023 21:14

I’m a Hannah and there are a lot of us around. At school and in my professional life I’ve always been called Hannah S. with my second initial constantly tagged on. Based on my experience, I’d go for something less popular (which rules our Eva too).

Clara would be my personal choice.

Penguinsmum · 09/09/2023 21:23

Nina followed by Clara. Not keen on others

Floralnomad · 09/09/2023 21:27

Hannah is best off your list . I really dislike Clara , but I also naturally pronounce it with the Clar being like far . Jessica seems really dated to me , not in a classic way .

DinaofCloud9 · 09/09/2023 21:34

Nina.
I don't get the baby name only comment. I know 2 and both are in their early 40s although one is actually a Georgina.

Oh hi! I’m a Hannah S too. Ironically last month I joined a team with another Hannah it’s it’s the first time I’ve ever had to be Hannah S. I’ve always been the only Hannah in a sea of Sarahs and Emmas.

CallieQ · 10/09/2023 00:00

Nina

Threeboysadogandacat · 10/09/2023 02:32

I prefer Claire/Clare to Clara and I think Luna is lovely. I love Ava but it is overused. I’m not keen on the others.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 20/09/2023 09:44

Another vote for Hannah.

Phos · 20/09/2023 09:49

Hannah. Can't go wrong with Hannah.

ScruffMuffin · 22/09/2023 22:02

Clara is usually pronounced to rhyme with Lara, Zara etc.

In order, from me:
Lara
Hannah
Eva
Clara
Nina
