Which middle name for Rosa

First name is 100% set so not asking for opinions on it.

We are just stuck with the middle name.

Eliza - not sure if the double "z" sound is too much but we love the meaning
Emilia (too spanish when paired with Rosa)- the meaning isn't great but I like how it sounds

Last name is quite common, long English surname so anything goes with it really.

Rosa Elizabeth is beautiful

WhispersOfWickedness · 12/08/2023 11:09

I have a teenage Rosa who never has issues with her name (apart from my neighbour who spells it Roser in the Christmas card every year 😂).
I still love it as much as the day I picked it 🥰
I can't help you with the middle name though, as I chose an obscure family name which would out us, but I can tell you it starts and ends in a consonant sound and has 3 syllables, which works very well 😊

Rosa Elaine

Meaning:sun ray or shining light. If one of your favorite lullabies to sing to baby is “You are my sunshine,” we have a name that will brighten up your day. The French girl's name Elaine means “shining light,” and it would be an ideal name to give your little ball of light. This name is a French variant of Helen.

That was meant to be a quote on my post, I didn't come up with it myself!

KirstenBlest · 12/08/2023 11:43

@SingingSands , baby name sites often have things on them that aren't necessarily true.
The French for Helen is Hélène, and it's not pronounced Elaine, but it's probably come from a French form of Helen or how it was transcribed into English.

Clunky to have 2 vowel sounds together imo. An extra r sound might get inserted. I think a 2 syllable name with the emphasis on the 2nd syllable.

How about:
Rosa Louise
Rosa Marie
Rosa Colette

RosaSkye · 13/08/2023 14:41

Rosa Celeste

Rosa Faith

Rosa Elise

I love Rosa.
I think either middle name sounds fine though Rosa Emilia does flow slightly better.
Rosa Emily or Rosa Elizabeth both flow better but then it's not the exact family name if that is important to you.
I think Rosa Grace is so different from any of the above - it's just so much more dull as almost every other girl will have Grace or May as a middle name (or Rae or Rose!)
If I was having free choice I would go with
Rosa Constance
Rosa Beatrice
Rosa Harriet or
Rosa Imogen

I love the name Rosa. I prefer Rosa Emilia to Rosa Eliza, but I wonder if Rosa Emilia Long Surname would be a bit of a mouthful.

How about:

Rosa Joy
Rosa Luz

The only name I’d avoid is Maria, because there are so many Rosa-Maria’s and Maria-Rosa’s in Spain, that I genuinely found it confusing.
