Flynn or Felix

Hi!

Looking for names to go with sibling Alec. Alec is the full name so two syllables would work best with surname.

Names we do like but can't decide are;

Flynn
Felix

Don't know any children around us with these names but I am aware of the creeping popularity of Felix.

Thanks.

I like and considered both, and I also love Alec. I think Alec and Felix are the nicest combination - both traditional and classic but on trend. I love Felix’s meaning, and Flynn seems just a touch faddy.

I think if you have a Felix now it’ll date him to his age, you haven’t passed the Felix surge so it doesn’t feel like an issue, unless you are concerned about him being “Felix A”. If that’s a major issue for you go for Flynn :)

Felix.

Crikeyalmightey · 31/07/2023 19:13

Ooh, Flynn. Love that.

PickledScrump · 31/07/2023 20:55

Felix, Flynn seemed to have had its moment several years ago now, starting to feel dated

shoopshoopdedoo · 31/07/2023 21:02

Alec is lovely. I think I prefer Felix of your two current choices.

Theoldwoman · 31/07/2023 22:51

Alec and Felix

Pjmasksonrepeat · 31/07/2023 22:59

I would vote Felix. I know a lot of little Fins and could imagine the kid having to constantly correct.

HowNice23 · 31/07/2023 23:06

Felix.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 31/07/2023 23:38

Alec and Felix

Felix

Both are handsome combinations for brothers.

You can't go wrong.

I prefer Flynn because I revere the achievements of John Flynn of the Inland.

Sandysandwich · 01/08/2023 03:26

Flynn is lovely

Saying Alec and Felix together makes me slip into saying Alex

PurpleReindeer2 · 01/08/2023 07:08

Flynn

merrymelodies · 01/08/2023 07:09

Felix. Means happy.

DuchessOfSausage · 01/08/2023 14:25

Flynn goes best. Alec and Felix would make me say Alex and Felix.
Philip is nice, and underused, if you want an F sound and 2 syllables.
I like Alec

ClaraThePigeon · 01/08/2023 14:26

Felix. Flynn is awful.

waterdroprooftopz · 01/08/2023 14:29

Finn?

pambeeslyhalpert2 · 01/08/2023 18:40

There's a gorgeous Felix in my nct group so I love that name. Flynn was my boy name if we had a boy.

So Flynn. But I love Felix

CurlewKate · 01/08/2023 18:46

Depends how you're saying Alec. Alek then Felix . Alex then something else (not keen on Flynn!)

Cabeza · 01/08/2023 18:54

My first thought is, In like Flynn <despite not being that ancient>. So I vote Felix.

PurpleChrayne · 01/08/2023 18:57

Felix.

Flynn is chavvy.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 01/08/2023 19:11

Felix is a cat.
Flynn is better. Or Finn. Or Phillip. Or Elliot.

DinnaeFashYersel · 01/08/2023 19:16

I'd go with Finn

Flynn is a surname
Felix is a cat

Coronationstation · 01/08/2023 21:50

Alec is very scottish to me, i’d probably go with Finlay / Finn or Fergus.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 15/08/2023 01:16

Felixstowe is a cat to me.
Fraser?
