I like India. -Mae is awful though
If you are having a middle name/s they should be proper names and not “cheap fillers”

I'm not a fan of the "sticking Mae or May on the end of any random name" trend that's abound at the moment.

India is ok on its own. Not my cup of tea but ok. Not really a fan of place names for people in general though. Had to talk my friend out of naming her son after the city he was conceived in. Anyone want to have a guess what she was going to call him?

I hope it was Paris and not, say, Bruges.

Not unless you’d call a child Poland or Guatemala.

And Anything-Mae is bad.

Yep this

hyphens are naff

spelling May Mae is naff

India is not ok unless you have a family connection to the place (I know some people don’t mind but to many it smacks of colonialism so don’t inflict it on her)

Iona
Ianthe
Isadora
Ismene

Can we play with any place name?

As I vote for Wyre Piddle Wink

@midsomermurderess , India is the name of a country, Louise isn't.

ok, now I’m trolling.

cheezncrackers · 15/07/2023 13:31

I don't like the habit of tagging -Mae onto everything.

Let's just say, it's the opposite of classy and leave it at that.

DuchessOfSausage · 15/07/2023 13:39

@VeridicalVagabond , was it an actual city or was it a town?

Lincoln, Lester or Chester might be OK but maybe not Southend-on-Sea or Stoke-on-Trent, and Newcastle upon Tyne would be quite a mouthful.
