Baby no. 1 due shortly and I'm torn between 3 first names!

Middle name likely Emilia or Emmeline as a nod to my mother, but want to focus on first name initially so would love everyone's opinions disregarding middle name.

What's everyone's preference in order of Romy/Cora/Sienna?

Thank you!

Cora; Romy; Sienna.

midsomermurderess · 05/06/2023 20:41

Romy is sometimes used as a shortening for Rosemary. Carrie J used it to honour an aunt Rosemary.

shadowchancesassy · 05/06/2023 20:41

Romy
Sienna
Cora

Cora, l've always likes this name it was also the little girls name on Titanic film. I know a Romy and she is a crap mum and unhygienic

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 05/06/2023 22:22

Cora Emmeline!

Hearti · 05/06/2023 22:23

Romy is very sweet

SneezyEvie · 05/06/2023 22:32

Cora!

RememberNancyDrew · 05/06/2023 22:35

Is it pronounced Raw-mee or Row-mee?

What about Romi with an "i" to match the "i" in the middle name?

Definitely Cora first! Classic and pretty but unusual.. I think sienna seems a bit trendy so will date, and Romy just reminds me of Italian takeaway places (there seems to be a lot of pizza places in my area called Roma or Romy or something similar!)

Interesting that Sienna might not date well! I think it's elegant but something about it doesn't have enough weight perhaps, unlike Cora being so classic. Thanks for sharing!

Definitely Cora.
It fits with the "old fashioned" names that are now fashionable once again, and yet I've not come across any other Cora's so far.
I like it in that it is easy to pronounce and spell too.

Thanks so much. Agreed!

Another vote for Cora.
I love it.

I like the others too- Romy always feels like it should be short for something to me , like Romilie

Sienna is beautiful but so popular

Thanks for sharing! Do you know if Romilie is a spelling option? I always thought the full option is just Romilly (I'm not keen on it due to the possible shortening to Millie, which isn't for us).

Cora is stunning name.

I was going to call my firstborn Cora(h) but her Dad was totally against it. I still adore the name.

Good luck!

In fact, if someone announced -

Cora Emmeline XXX

I would swoon!

Oh thank you! It is a classy and unusual combo I think. Btw if your name is Rosa Skye like your username, that is utterly swoon worthy too!! Love it.

I love Cora. It suits Emmeline too.

Thank you! I think Emmeline is a nice contrast from Emilia.

Yet another vote for Cora, followed by Romy. Consider the initial letters of her names - will they form a word?

PurpleChrayne · 05/06/2023 22:44

Romy Emilia is a stunning name.

continentallentil · 05/06/2023 22:44

Cora Emmeline - it’s lovely

The other two are quite Hello Mag, especially Sienna

Thank you so much. Looks like Cora is hands down the front runner!

Surname begins with G and we'd possibly add a second middle name beginning with D, so the initials would be CEDG which I'm fine with.

I know someone who recently named their daughter and the initials are EEL! Eek!

Thank you, I think I needed to hear this! Something about Romy and Sienna lacks gravitas... and I think you've nailed it with the Hello Mag reference haha! Thank you for sharing.

Cora Emmeline
Romy Emilia
Really dislike Sienna

bingnbong · 05/06/2023 22:58

Romy is a gorgeous name. Cora is ok although it sounds a little harsh to my ear and make me think of apple cores. Sienna is pretty but its popular and has perhaps had it's moment.
