Milo is first and foremost a drink to me, and then a dog’s name.

Rio is a city.

And Harlo is made up because you obviously like names ending in ‘o’.

Not too keen on any of them.

Rio, Harlo or Milo?
getfreddynow · 02/06/2023 02:38

Milo if I had to choose is an ok option for me. Good luck with your choice.

liveforsummer · 02/06/2023 02:45

Agree with others that Milo is the only one acceptable as an actual name but leans more towards a pet. I guess Rio at least is a bit more glamorous as a city namesake than Harlo(w)

TiredCatLady · 02/06/2023 03:17

These all sound like pet names to me (sorry!)- two of them are the name of soft drinks…

GoodChat · 02/06/2023 03:31

Definitely not Harlo - if you're going to use it at least add the W

user1492757084 · 02/06/2023 03:45

Milo - though it is not a fave, sorry.

Snugglemonkey · 02/06/2023 07:11

I think these are better for a parrot.

joan12 · 02/06/2023 10:39

I suppose it's worth noting that Milo was a notorious Roman thug, barely redeemed by Cicero.

joan12 · 02/06/2023 10:39

That is, before he was a drink, a dog or a parrot

MerryChristmasToYou · 02/06/2023 10:44

Harlo looks like you can't spell. Arlo or Harlow? (not keen on either)
Rio seems like a name from the 1990s and not in a good way.
Milo is the best of the three but I don't like it and it's a milky drink.

@ClemFandangoCanYouHearMe , I was thinking Horlicks or Bournvitanot sure if Bournvita is still available

Frazzled2108 · 02/06/2023 10:44

Love Rio 😍

Chesneyhawkes1 · 02/06/2023 10:45

I'd say Milo but only cos my dog is called that!

MissHart · 01/06/2023 22:16

I like Harlo Rio together too with Rio as the middle name

No.

SpringIntoChaos · 02/06/2023 10:51

Please remember you are naming an actual human.

Zwicky · 02/06/2023 11:06

I considered Milo before it was a dogs name but the drink put me off. It’s a nice name though.

Don’t mind Rio apart from it sounds like a stage name. It’s not awful by any stretch

Harlo looks like Harlow with the end rubbed off. Sounds exactly like it and too much like Hollow. Would you like to be called hollow? It’s also very like Arlo pronounced by someone making supreme effort not to drop their aitches. It’s a very modern rather than traditional name (I don’t know any over 10) so it’s bold to attempt it with a boy. I know Kelly, Hillary, Robin, Jordan etc are pretty much unisex, Harlow is, to me, a girls name and I’m not sure if I’d want to give my ds the job of unisexing it. Probably shouldn’t matter but it does. Arlo and Harley are both names.

@Newname2323 my first thought is river, then Rio de Janeiro, then the mining company Rio Tinto, then Rio Ferdinand - I’ve never met a Rio and he’s the only person I’ve heard of with it as a name. Looking at Wikipedia, most of the famous people with it as a name seem to be Japanese so maybe that’s why (I don’t know that many Japanese people).

Yes I forgot about Rio Ferdinand. A notorious piece of shit. Don't name your kid after him.

wowie69 · 02/06/2023 11:12

Harlo isn't a name, it's Arlo.

toodlesofoodles · 02/06/2023 11:22

Where have you got Harlo from? It's Harlow (a girls name) or Arlo.

Arlo is nice, Milo is my second favourite. Rio reminds me of Ferdinand, so no.

creativeteapot · 02/06/2023 11:26

Ivo? I think Milo is nice. Rio is a city. I wouldn't choose Harlo, maybe Arlo?

MerryChristmasToYou · 02/06/2023 11:26

Is Harlow a girl's name? I thought it was a town in Essex.
Dargreener says it's a girl's name and a boy's name

intheatticwiththematches · 02/06/2023 11:37

these are pet names - Milo is a drink in France, Rio is a river, or parrot now, Harlo is unfinished.
There are more established names ending in o - Marco, Otto, Franco, Carlo, Angelo, Georgio, Horatio, Iago, Leo/nardo, Nando, Polo, Rollo, Uno, Volvo, Biro

However, Marlow/e is more polished, ridicule proof

NurseEssie · 02/06/2023 12:06

Volvo? Ffs.

And milo is a drink. Like naming your kid Ribena

DipperandMabel · 02/06/2023 12:17

Milo is my favourite out of the names you have selected. Then Rio. Harlo looks wrong somehow (Is it Arlo? Harlow?, a mix)

They aren’t my style of names but Milo is the nicest imo.

DorisElward · 02/06/2023 12:20

go with Fido
