I don't like Lilah or Lylah.

Lila or lilah.

laila and Leila I’d definitely pronounce ‘lay-la’. Lyla I’d pronounce as you want but I prefer the first two.

breya · 21/05/2023 20:57

Lyla.

Leila and Laila are Lay-La.

Lyla.

Needmorelego · 21/05/2023 20:59

Lyla or Lila
Leila - I would say as "Leela"
Laila - I would say as "Layla"

Monkeypuzzlegane · 21/05/2023 21:00

lyla makes the most sense

it’s similar to Lyra but with a l instead of the r

CatherinedeBourgh · 21/05/2023 21:01

Be aware that if you spell it Lila it will be pronounced Leela by non native English speakers. Might be annoying if she ever lives abroad.

Most natural for me would be Laila, but I like Lyla better.

Saschka · 21/05/2023 21:01

Lyla.

Leila/Laila are pronounced Lay-La to me.

Lila may be pronounced “Leela” (like Lilo in Lilo and Stitch is pronounced “Leelo” not “Lylo” like the inflatable).

Lyla is probably the only one where you can be sure it will be pronounced right first time by almost everyone.

Okunevo · 21/05/2023 21:01

Lyla

Leila I'd pronounce Lee-la
Laila I'd pronounce Lay-la
Lila I'd pronounce Li-la

WetBandits · 21/05/2023 21:02

Leila and Laila are both pronounced ‘lay la’

SouthLondonMum22 · 21/05/2023 21:03

Lila or Lyla.

FayCarew · 21/05/2023 21:04

Leila - Lay-la or Lee-la
Lila - ly-la
Lyla - Ly-la
Laila - Ly-la

but that's how I would say them, not how everyone would

WheelsUp · 21/05/2023 21:07

I'd pick Lyla

I thought Lila was like lilac but another person made the good point about Lilo and Stitch

riotlady · 21/05/2023 21:08

Lila or Lyla, I think Lila looks nicer though

Whatisityoucantface · 21/05/2023 21:44

Lyla

I know a Leila and it’s Lee-La so definitely not that spelling!

PickledScrump · 21/05/2023 22:07

The only one that is undisputable is Lyla. The others can all vary

Londonlady1423 · 21/05/2023 22:08

Lilah.

With the name you may get many mispronunciations and spellings which you'll just have to accept.

shakeitoffsis · 21/05/2023 22:20

Lyla

Birdiboo · 22/05/2023 00:18

I know you don’t like it but I think Lilah is the nicest spelling - then Lila second nicest.

Not sure why but I just don’t like Lyla as much.

Still a gorgeous name though!

CointreauVersial · 22/05/2023 00:21

My colleague is Leila, pronounced Ly-la, and people say her name wrong All The Time. They just can't seem to grasp it.

SilentParrot · 22/05/2023 01:11
