I really only like 'Teddy' or 'Dougie'. I honestly have scoured the internet & can't find anything I like! I know 100's of Albie' s & Archie's, Jacks & Charlie's. I'm seriously panicking & at this rate will just be calling him Blob or something. Please help!

You can’t call a child Teddy or Dougie. They’ll grow up to be adults with the names of cutesy cartoon characters for the under-3’s.

You could call him Theodore or Douglas (really nice, classic, adult names) and then feel free to cutesy them up as you see fit.

Unless you're in Scotland.
Dougie is a very common adult man's name.

Edward and Douglas aren't that 'out there' and then you can shorten however you like.

When my youngest was born there was a glut of little Milos because of The Tweenies. You may find the same with your choices do it won't be unusual when he starts school.

I bet there won't be many Borises though 😀

I actually really do love Teddy as a standalone name, it isn't bad. I know an adult Teddy. Dougie isn't awful either, but both would be much much better with full names Theodore and Douglas. But you could get away with Teddy pretty easily in my opinion, there's much worse name choices out there these days...

I really dislike the name Teddy, one if the most prolific serial killers in history was Ted Bundy, I find naming wee little boys this a bit odd personally, like calling a little girl these days Myra.

Anyway...

How about Barnaby with Barny as a NN?

Or

Jamie/James
Topher/Christopher
Pacey
Tommy
Frankie

Elliott/Eli

Edgar ( Eddie or Teddy).
Martin ( underused classic, could be Marty).
What about Bear ( nn Teddy)? Unless your surname is Hunter.
There are some underused Biblical names that aren't traditional classics but aren't too weird either ( not recommending Methuselah or Ichabod) like Boaz, Amos, Caleb, Aquila, Titus or Rufus.
