(With Maris as a middle name rather than a part of the first name.)

Is it usable? I love the name Stella and I love the Virgin Mary.

It’s pretty but I instantly thought ‘cruise ship’ for some reason - and I hadn’t made the ‘star of the sea’ connection…

I've only known it as one name, Stellamaris. Woe betide anyone who called her just 'Stella'! I think it's lovely.

It is a beautiful name. My RC grandfather used to sing that hymn to me in the car.

We are Catholic and also as a family have a very strong connection to the sea (in terms of family history) so I thought it might be fitting. I also love Stella which she’d be know as day-to-day. I didn’t know it was a place either but to be honest it sounds pretty cool with the bike races 😁

Then it's a perfect name.
