It's not a nice name for a boy or a girl.

peaceinourtime · 07/01/2023 23:24

Its lovely, use it.

Eudaimonia5 · 07/01/2023 23:28

As in Tony? No, give the kid a proper first name. You could maybe give your little girl Hadley as a surname if it has family significance. I hate surnames as first names, I don't understand it.

TheSingingBean · 07/01/2023 23:28

Lovely

Zerrin13 · 07/01/2023 23:34

Its actually quite silly

HelloBunny · 07/01/2023 23:39

Very American sounding name.

JanglyBeads · 07/01/2023 23:43

I know a lovely little American "Hadley", so I like it now, andI'm quite a traditionalist!

aubergineterrine · 07/01/2023 23:51

I like it, it was on our list but for a boy

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 07/01/2023 23:54

I think it's okay even though my first thought it the evil prison warden from Shawshank.

Volkswagenitalia · 07/01/2023 23:56

I like it - the only Hadley I know of is the journalist Hadley Freeman and that is a good association.

It's 'unique' without being ridiculous.

Unicorn717 · 08/01/2023 00:02

Makes me think of Tony Hadley but I don't like/unlike it.

Luana1 · 08/01/2023 00:09

I don't think it's a particularly pleasant sounding name, but it's not offensive or anything so if you are into those surname sounding first names, then why not!

WedonttalkaboutMaureen · 08/01/2023 00:10

Use it OP, it's GOLD!

You've got the power to know!

TenPenceMix · 08/01/2023 00:13

Hadley Freeman is a legend

Rickandmortified100 · 08/01/2023 00:28

I don’t like it. To me it feels a bit awkward

Stichintime · 08/01/2023 00:30

As in 'I had Lee' ? Go for it.

ditherydotty · 08/01/2023 00:31

Awful for both a girl and boy

Spaghetti201 · 08/01/2023 00:32

Quite harsh sounding name. It makes me think of a spoilt brat, top to toe in Louis Vitton, don’t know why.

NestingSparrow · 08/01/2023 00:32

It’s a nice surname.

This.

grayhairdontcare · 08/01/2023 10:50

We have a Hadley and Paignton at the school I work at.
They are both just names

I would think of Hadley Freeman too.
Great name.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 08/01/2023 11:00

Just to add a bit of balance, I personally find Hadley Freeman's columns to be irritating.

BelenaConhamHarter · 08/01/2023 11:02

When we were thinking of a name for DS it came up on here and was associated with something I didn't exactly love.

We went with the name anyway and in ten years NO ONE has ever mentioned the association that came up here.

A lot of people have no idea who either Tony Hadley or Hadley Freeman are.
