suwoo · 02/02/2008 11:30

I was going to say Seren- it means star.

Blandmum · 02/02/2008 11:31

Rhian

(are you living in wales? if so Elined, if not don't cos she'll never get it pronounced properly! )

sallysparkle · 02/02/2008 11:31

Sian or Carys were both on our list if we had a girl

Lionstar · 02/02/2008 11:32

Cerys (means love) and Seren (means star) were on our list. DD ended up with Seren as a middle name, still would have liked it as a first name though, but was vetoed!

lottiejenkins · 02/02/2008 11:37

My ds goes to school with a lovely Carys!!

belgo · 02/02/2008 11:43

Teleri is very pretty.

I've also heard of Gwenno (not sure of spelling)

preggersagain · 02/02/2008 11:44

Lionstar · 02/02/2008 11:50

Llinos, Taryn, Gewnnan, Siwan, Tirion - all lovely

Lionstar · 02/02/2008 11:51

Ooops that should have been Gwennan

JonesTheSteam · 02/02/2008 11:52

Ffion (my Dd's name )
Bethan
Cerys
Elin
Catrin
Rhiannon

JonesTheSteam · 02/02/2008 11:52

Lionstar - the first one on your list is my name!

PotPourri · 02/02/2008 12:06

Bronwen, Rhiannon, Keridwen, Gwendolyn, Imogen... First two are my DDs middle names (DH welsh). Agree that it will always be pronounced wrong unless you live in Wales.

JonesTheSteam · 02/02/2008 12:08

Imogen is not a Welsh name. It's from a Shakespeare play.

Don't think Fleur is Welsh either.

Zazette · 02/02/2008 12:25

Fleur isn't Welsh, but Fflur (pronounced 'fleer') is - it means 'flowers'.

Sunshinemummy · 02/02/2008 12:31

I love Rhiannon and Carys.

Slubberdegullion · 02/02/2008 12:43

my dds have welsh middle names.

Carys and Anwen.

tudorrose · 02/02/2008 12:58

my dp is welsh so had no choice! dd2 is Rhianna but we also loved Eleri, Ffion, Carys, Eirlys (means snowdrop)and Aerona. Am struggling for dd3 due in two weeks though!

Pinkchampagne · 02/02/2008 13:00

We have an Eleri at the school I work. Pretty name!

theslownorris · 02/02/2008 13:03

I know I'm always posting this site but it is useful

(Seren's a great name btw ).

alfiesbabe · 02/02/2008 13:08

Haelwen. Means sunshine.
Isn't Imogen Shakespearean?

Blandmum · 02/02/2008 15:26

Oh don't use Haelwen, I have an 'Aunty' Haelwen who is about 140 years old. And I knew an eirlys in school who was a real baggage!
