DD2 due in spring! 🎀

Rate my names:
Lily
Darcy
Elsa

NB: not at all bothered by popularity or whether it could be screamed in a supermarket. Just think they sound nice!

I love Lily.

I really don't like the others, sorry. Elsa is better than Darcy though, by a very long way.

Smilesarecontagious · 26/10/2022 19:58

Darcy is my favourite from the list x

SimonJones · 26/10/2022 19:59

Darcy is an absolute no-no.

Elsa is not much better.

Lily is inoffensive.

sopeas · 26/10/2022 20:05

Lily is my all time favourite name 🥰

Me too!

Lily - dull and overused
Elsa - Frozen
Darcey - best of the options. Have you considered Dulcie? Much nicer but the one I know is lovely so skews my view

Dacadactyl · 26/10/2022 20:09

I like Lily best. Then Elsa (but it'd be quite a long way behind Lily) Am not keen on Darcy at all.

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 26/10/2022 20:13

I like Lily best. I do like Darcy too. I don't like Elsa at all.

MsTSwift · 26/10/2022 20:17

All the Lily’s I know are dreadful so that name is ruined.

I have but
a) I knew a Dulcie who was vile and
b) I can’t get over the ‘dull’ part! It sounds so flat and not pretty.

Lily will beat you up behind the bike shed at school

KylieCharlene · 26/10/2022 20:23

Prefer Elsie.
It's not as common as the other two (which for me is quite important).

It was my great grandmother’s middle name so find it hard to make that connection! I don’t know many teens though.

Lily’s are rough sorry. My grandmothers name too but times have changed!

Heythatwasmyhotdog · 26/10/2022 20:25

Lily, definitely.
Elsa - Frozen
Darcy - sorry but I just think “arsey”

TheBirdintheCave · 26/10/2022 20:26

Lily and Elsa are fine. Darcy is a surname.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 26/10/2022 20:26

Lily is definitely a bit rough these days.
Darcy too to be honest.
Elsa the best but obviously it’s very Disney Princess.

JulesCobb · 26/10/2022 20:30

Not keen on any. Darcy is I think the best. Lily is a terrible sound.

elephantseal · 26/10/2022 20:43

All nice! I prefer Darcy.

FennelAndOnions · 26/10/2022 20:47

Really dislike Darcy, it’s such an ugly name.

Lily is nice but so so popular (I know you’re not bothered, but it is).

Elsa is just Frozen.

Luredbyapomegranate · 26/10/2022 20:51

Elsa is very nice

I think Lily is wet and Darcy wet and low rent

JamSandle · 26/10/2022 20:52

I only like Darcy from the list.

Whitewolf2 · 26/10/2022 21:04

I like Lily the most. I know 2, and neither are mean or rough!
Elsa is still too intertwined with Frozen.
Darcey is too modern for me, it’s a surname and not my style.

Kanaloa · 26/10/2022 21:06

Lily is not ‘rough.’ Where do people on mumsnet come up with this nonsense? It’s an incredibly popular name but that doesn’t make it ‘rough.’ What’s ‘rough’ about it? It’s nice enough but a bit overused for me.

Elsa I’d say is too linked to Frozen, that’s all I think of when I hear it.

Darcy is nice, inoffensive, quite pretty. You’d probably need to spell it often because some people spell it Darcie/Darcey instead.
