Girls names to go with Hudson

2020firsttimemum · 05/10/2022 23:09

So our little boy is just over 2 and called Hudson.

I'm now 21 weeks with a baby girl and struggling for a girls name to go with his.

I like less common names but that are easy to spell / pronounce. I'm not fussed on the 'meaning' of the name etc

I actually have a really long list of girls names that I like as such, but would like other ideas or opinions

Is Hudson the surname? If so something like Hannah would be lovely.

Hudson? Poor kid.

Rude!!!

Sawyer! I always loved Sawyer for a little girl. With a light, girly middle name like Daisy. Sawyer Daisy. I think it´s adorable! Can´t use it as it doesn´t match my other children´s names at all, but I love it, and it sounds good with Hudson, which I also think is a really cute name! Other names:

Piper
Quinn
Cassia
Juno
Selah
Lux
Joy
Tallulah

Ignore people like this. Some MN posters won´t approve any name that isn´t Alice or Thomas.

Thank you to everyone else for your suggestions and kinder comments than the one d*ckhead poster.

Some really lovely suggestions here to think about, many which we haven't considered 💖

Can you not read? Why bother posting if you can’t even read the op.

I know a Hudson with a sister called Noa - they are American.

Yes, it’s pronounced the same as Noah, but there’s never any issues with people not knowing how to say it. On first meets she always introduces herself as “Noa, but without an h” and people remember because it’s so unique.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 06/10/2022 16:51

Noa is definitely not unique. I see it suggested on baby name apps all the time. I think it's rising in popularity in the UK too.

SouthOfFrance · 06/10/2022 17:03

The river theme is lovely, how about

Nialla
Yukon
Orinoco
Eden
Tay
Tamara

Or maybe Brooke? Or another nature themed one like Skye, Willow etc?

What names do you already have on your list perhaps would help know what else you like.

A book a read recently had a character called Hudson. His sisters were Nina and Kit (short for Katherine).

I love the name Hudson but this really made me smile! I think Piper, Paloma, Raphaella, Erin, Taylor, Christa, Lula, Saffron and Marcella have a similar vibe.

Emeraldgreenjewel · 06/10/2022 21:45

Hudson is not to my personal taste

however the endless ‘River’ replies … really not funny at all.

if your DS is called George is it side splittingly funny to suggest Charlotte

or if your daughter is called marianne utterly the height of wit to suggest Elinor

etc

not. Fucking. Funny.
