Looking for some comments on our current favourites.

Anything you can think of especially if there are any negative associations or problems people with the name might encounter.

Sabrina
Cassandra
Kaylie (which spelling would you pick?)
Isabella
Kiera
Bloom
Aria

My husband likes Kaylie and Kiera. I don't really have a problem with them but find them a bit 90s. He likes these two spellings but I guess the most common ones are Kayleigh and Keira? I guess there aren't many around these days so everyone will get used to the spellings she uses. Or is it better to go with some of the more classic choices (mostly my ideas but my husband likes them all as well).

I am also not sure about Bloom, I think it would be a middle name. I do think it's quite pretty but maybe too much as a first name?

Sabrina (the teenage witch) 👎🏻
Cassandra ✔️
Kaylie (which spelling would you pick?) 👎🏻
Isabella ✔️
Kiera ✔️
Bloom ⁉️👎🏻
Aria 👎🏻

EntertainingandFactual · 12/09/2022 19:58

Keira rather than Kiera

dream28 · 12/09/2022 20:04

I would go with Kaylie. I think this spelling have some balance, both ay and lie are spelled phonetically and it looks fine looks fine compared to Kayly.

I love Isabella though, but I think most people go for Isabel or Isabelle because Twilight kind of ruined it.

I feel Bloom is fine as well, but I prefer Blossom. There's also some weirdness to Bloom, doesn't look like other names

Sabrina and Cassandra are good names, but maybe they feel more like you're naming an adult, while ignoring most people usually like lovelier, more oomph or gentler names.

Aria is trendy, but most people switched to Arya. Would not pick because it was souless and way too modern even before GOT.

Fleur405 · 12/09/2022 20:11

As someone who spends her whole life spelling her name I’d implore you if you like a name, just use the common spelling rather than making up your own.

babysharksb1tch · 12/09/2022 20:12

Bloom?!

Cassandra and Isabella are lovely. I prefer your choice names OP.

Iabhorlaziness · 12/09/2022 20:12

Bloom?! It's not even a name!

HuntingoftheSnark · 12/09/2022 20:13

I like Cassandra and Isabella, but not the others. I think Bloom is awful - it just reminds me of Leopold Bloom.

MyBuggyIsOutToGetMe · 12/09/2022 20:16

I like Cassandra and Isabella best. Both lovely classic names with lots of nickname potential.

Sabrina and Aria are nice, though Sabrina sounds a bit dated to me.

I’m not very keen on Keira personally but I would spell it Keira rather than Kiera. Not a fan of Kaylie regardless of spellings - or Bloom.

MyBuggyIsOutToGetMe · 12/09/2022 20:16

Could you get DH on board with Cassie (Cassandra) rather than Kaylie?

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 12/09/2022 20:22

Love Sabrina - gorgeous name and underused.
Cassandra - also love this, I think it's quite classic really and Cassie or Cass are good shortenings.
Kaylie - don't like in any spelling.
Kiera - not a fan.
Isabella - pretty, lots of them which isn't necessarily bad but some people don't want more popular names.
Bloom - kind of odd, I'm not sure I like it. I thought Orlando Bloom.
Aria - I like this. Obvious link to Game of Thrones but I don't mind that.

Riverlee · 12/09/2022 20:25

Sabrina - loved since Charlie Angels days (original tv series)
Cassandra - also love
Kaylie (which spelling would you pick?) - prefer Kayleigh (and Marillion song)
Isabella - ok
Kiera - not keen
Bloom - no
Aria - no

mumof1or2 · 12/09/2022 20:28

I teach lots of Isabellas and it normally gets shortened to Bella. Check you like that name if you choose Isabella!

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/09/2022 21:02

1 Sabrina - excellent sparky name. Like the slight witchiness
2 Cassandra - it’s slightly depressing but pretty enough - Cassie is nice. How about Cassia?

3 Kiera - it’s OK. Bit 90s.
4 Isabella it’s lovely but the world is drowning in them. Please no more.

5 Aria It’s a bit odd, and very Disney.

6 Bloom - NO. It’s weird. As a middle name if you must

7 Kaylie - NOOOOOO it’s a no for any spelling, Kayleigh was born in the early 90s, she has five kids by 4 men, 2 of whom are currently in prison.

noclothesinbed · 12/09/2022 21:03

I like Kayleigh with this spelling. Really unusual.

Mummytobe333 · 12/09/2022 21:24

Sabrina - Awful. The teenage witch and just don’t like the name
Cassandra - prefer Cassie or Cassia
Kaylie (which spelling would you pick?) - Very 90s
Isabella - Never been keen
Kiera - like but don’t love
Bloom - ?

Aria - Love 💕 favourite from the list !

TabithaTittlemouse · 12/09/2022 21:26

Isabella is the only one that I like.
The rest are very dated but not in a nice way. Bloom is ridiculous.

KangarooKenny · 12/09/2022 21:27

Cassandra - Cassie I love.
Kayleigh is the spelling I like.
Isabella is lovely.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 12/09/2022 21:30

Cassandra is lovely, classic, but underused. Isabella is also nice but very common. Not keen at all on the others!

bravotango · 12/09/2022 21:30

Cassandra and Aria are ok, I like Kiera the best but knew someone called Ciara and slightly preferred that spelling. Not keen on the others (actually don't mind Bloom but definitely as a middle name only! Blossom?)

Ducksurprise · 12/09/2022 21:31

Kayleigh is it to late to say I love you...

Love Kayleigh, like Isabella but there are millions, like Cassandra.

B&M Loo is horrible.

Love love Kayleigh (Kaylie is the second best of your options)

SalviaOfficinalis · 12/09/2022 21:33

Sabrina - I like it, also like Sarina

Cassandra - very posh but nice (unless pronounced like only fools and horses).

Kaylie - the 90s equivalent of Tracey - very dated and not due a revival. Spelled Kayleigh if you really must.

Isabella - nice but very commonly used

Kiera - nice, especially if you have an Irish connection

Bloom - no.

Aria - nice

Very eclectic tastes OP - Cassandra and Kaylie really are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
May I suggest Callie as an alternative?

TooManyMoronsHere · 12/09/2022 21:34

noclothesinbed · 12/09/2022 21:03

I like Kayleigh with this spelling. Really unusual.

Not if you were born in the 90's

TooManyMoronsHere · 12/09/2022 21:35

Keira is the nicest name by far.

Bloom? Bloom, bloom, shake shake the room.

Ducksurprise · 12/09/2022 21:35

too too late to say I'm sorry. Bloody autocorrect.

Ceannah · 12/09/2022 21:39
