Half English half Indian boys name?

Mizzy19 · 01/09/2022 05:45

Hi,

I'm stuck on boys names.
First boy I called Kye.
This one, just don't know where to start...
Both boys are half English and half Indian (sikh)...
So looking at uncommon unique names...
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Have about 8 weeks to go..
Doesn't have to be entirely half and half..

A few I liked..
Josh
Kiaan
Aran
Ayaan
Arjun
Jae

Ajay

I like Ayaan too

OhShutIt · 01/09/2022 05:48

Zack/Zac

I like Aran or Ayaan. Kids in our wider family ended up with English names but Kaur or Singh as middle names as a nod to each part of their heritage.

Ajay
Zayn
Rishi !

Hari would be my choice, also like Aran or maybe Eashan

BellaVida · 01/09/2022 10:32

I prefer Aran from your list. Other names I’ve come across through friends are:
Rohan
Kiran
Dillon
Aman
Jeevan
Sachin
Nikhil

Dhruv

I've come to two names now,

Arran (means "exalted" or "mountain of strength" or "warrior" )
Ruven (means "behold, a son")

What do others think, which one seems better?? They both have good meaning..

Aryan is quite popular at the moment. Jai or variations of it with suffixes such as veer.
Hari
Eshan
Ayaan

I've literally never heard Ruven, is that Punjabi?

Jeevan is a lovely name too

Mizzy19 · 29/09/2022 13:19

I'm looking at a mixed name rather than more Indian or punjabi as the middle and surname is going to be punjabi, so maybe a mixed or English name but something different.

Ruven being variation of Ruben
Arran being variation of Aaron

I know a couple of keyaans but they are both from Muslim families, don't know if it'd the same name or not but very cute.
Ruven is nice too

Soverydone · 29/09/2022 13:46

Neel

TrashPandas · 29/09/2022 13:47

If you're raising him in the UK, Ruven will be misnamed as Ruben all the time.

Arran is nice.

I would have gone with Arjun.

BearWoman · 29/09/2022 13:50

Ruven

BeachStripes · 29/09/2022 13:51

Came on to say Neel, Hari and Rohan which have all been said!

Of your choices I slightly prefer Arran and think it meets your mixed brief better.

PicaNewName · 29/09/2022 13:53

Something like 'Arjohn'? 😁

Etinoxaurus · 29/09/2022 13:55

Ruven is lovely, I’ve never heard of it.
As it’s rare I’d research it thoroughly.

Mizzy19 · 29/09/2022 15:27

Arjon as opposed to Arjun isn't bad either.

I think they're both lovely but to an English ear, they don't come across as mixed English/Indian if that's your goal.

Mintearo7 · 29/09/2022 15:52
