Half English half Indian boys name?

Hi,

I'm stuck on boys names.
First boy I called Kye.
This one, just don't know where to start...
Both boys are half English and half Indian (sikh)...
So looking at uncommon unique names...
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Have about 8 weeks to go..
Doesn't have to be entirely half and half..

A few I liked..
Josh
Kiaan
Aran
Ayaan
Arjun
Jae

Rahul, Sanjiv, Sanjay, Sachin.

Ah, sorry, those are not uncommon.

WandaWomblesaurus · 29/09/2022 19:39

I love the name Kishore
Rohan is lovely and he can also pretend he's in Lord of the Rings

I know somebody in this situation who used Seth - well-known name in the UK and a nod to Vikram Seth, I thought it was a really clever idea

Pinktruffle · 29/09/2022 23:04

Arjon is terrible, please dont use that. Arjun is a beautiful name

I am not sure of either Arran or Ruven — they are neither here nor there. Aaron or Reuben would be fine — changing the spelling doesn’t make them more Indian? Harun is the standard Arabic variation of Aaron though, and sounds more like an Indian name. Arran seems tk
just be related to the islands? For a variation of Reuben, what about Rupen?

Although, with a Punjabi last name, just lean into an English first name (that the Punjabi relatives can pronounce)?

Sd352 · 30/09/2022 00:00

also agree Arjun is a great name — don’t change it around. It’a a meaningful name for Sikhs and easy to
pronounce as well (the spelling Arjan could work too but may be ready as Aryan).

Pinktruffle · 30/09/2022 19:36

Taran or Taron for the Anglo spelling works well for both Indian and an English name

TheVanguardSix · 30/09/2022 19:42

I love Ruven and Arjun.
I know a Vinod (Vinnie- nice shortening).

Croque · 30/09/2022 19:48

I know a half-Sikh guy called Sunny. I cannot remember what the whole name is!

S25 · 01/10/2022 10:38

Anveer?

growinggreyer · 01/10/2022 10:57

Ru is becoming popular around here, short for Rupert, but you could make it short for Ruven.

Twinsmummy1812 · 01/10/2022 12:05

Love Ruven, great name!

Kumri · 01/10/2022 12:09

I like Arjun. I’d avoid names with the aa sound as there will be more wrong pronunciations

I also really like Taran which is Indian (Sikh?) and completely seperately is also a Gaelic name still somewhat popular in Wales. Means Thunder in Gaelic and heaven in Hindi, I think.

randomlovemore · 01/10/2022 12:46

Samir! Can be shortened to Sam

Pinktruffle · 01/10/2022 19:52

@Kumri yeah Taran is a Sikh name, it means 'salvation'

Voic · 27/06/2023 16:52

Hi all
I am looking for suggestions for baby boys name that is an Indian English fusion.
I have a boy called Riaan, so something that would go nicely with that.

I like Ari so far.

Thanks

WandaWomblesaurus · 28/06/2023 10:50

Kishore (Kish)

Vexxa · 30/06/2023 07:36

I know a Dhilan which I think is lovely and works very well in the UK as it sounds just like Dylan.
