Finding it so hard to settle on a name but baby is coming this week! Please rate or suggest alternatives based on our taste.

Here’s the list at the moment - middle name is likely to be Daisy.

Lena
Thea
Joanie
Juliet
Roslyn
Cassia
Josephine

Ifiwasabird · 29/08/2022 07:48

Juliet and Josephine are lovely. I like Lena as a nickname for Helena.

pilates · 29/08/2022 07:50

Josephine is lovely not keen on rest

Denny53 · 29/08/2022 07:50

Not keen on any of those actually. I think it also depends on your surname which of course you’re not likely to put on here?

Beautifulsunflowers · 29/08/2022 07:51

There’s no rush to decide before the babies born, you have time!
From your list my favourite is Josephine - nn Josie is nice.

Catch21 · 29/08/2022 07:51

I love Juliet and Thea.

LadyCampanulaTottington · 29/08/2022 07:51

Juliet is beautiful. Classic and elegant.

Juliet Daisy is fab.

Undertheoldlindentree · 29/08/2022 07:53

Josephine Daisy is pretty, classic and fairly unusual.

Mummytobe333 · 29/08/2022 07:58

Thea is beautiful 💕 by far my favourite!
2nd would be Cassia. Don’t like the rest sorry.

StopFeckingFaffing · 29/08/2022 08:03

Juliet, Josephine or Cassia are all lovely

I prefer Rosalind to Roslyn

jillymcnilly · 29/08/2022 08:05

I was just thinking yesterday that 'Leonora' is not used much these days. nn Nora.

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2022 08:28

Lena - Leena or Laina? Too many L names popular
Thea - don't like it
Joanie - like, would put Joan on bc esp with Daisy as a middle name
Juliet - lovely but some people say it as Julie-ETTE which puts me off
Roslyn - Rosalind is lovely
Cassia - ok
Josephine - yes but will be shortened

Chellabella · 29/08/2022 08:32

Quite an old fashioned set of names, but I do like Thea 😊

ShadowPuppets · 29/08/2022 08:33

DS would have been Josephine if he’d been a girl so that gets my vote!

frangipani13 · 29/08/2022 08:35

Gorgeous names! I love Thea and Lena, I have four letter names that end in ‘a’ for my little girls too. Sounds weird but wait until they’re here and see what feels like. I loved the names Anoushka and Mila for mine but when they were born neither felt right, but the other name I shortlisted sort of clicked. I’m excited for you! All the best for a lovely healthy happy delivery.

Snowiscold · 29/08/2022 08:35

They’re nice names:
Lena - if short for something
Thea-like
Joanie- prefer Joan
Juliet-yes, but prefer Julia
Roslyn-I don’t know this. Is it a form of Rosalind?
Cassia-yes
Josephine-yes

Norachance · 29/08/2022 08:35

Just wait until she is here and see which name suits her. Sometimes people pick a name and then when baby comes that name just doesn't feel right for their baby. You have a lovely list. I really like Cassia of all of them.

PMAmostofthetime · 29/08/2022 08:49

@Mitzymarvel

Thea is my favourite from your list- it's a beautiful name.

EleanorShellstrop28 · 29/08/2022 17:23

Juliet
Cassia
Josephine

All beautiful names. Cassia can be Cassie which is sweet, Juliet can be Ettie which is also nice, and Josephine has loads of great nn options - Josie, Posey, Effie, Sephy. Lovely.

frenchie4002 · 29/08/2022 17:45

Thea is great

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/08/2022 19:00

They are all pretty nice, just some a bit more distinguished than others. The order for me:

Cassia - lovely, elegant, so underused, and Cassie is a nice short form

Roslyn - I really like it, slightly Arthurian, you can imagine her killing it in Avalon. (Obvs it has da Vinci Code associations, but fading now.)

The rest

Juliet - it’s nice enough, getting quite popular, I prefer the simpler Julia

Joanie - only if short for Joanna - it’s a strong flavour, and options are good

Josephine - alright

Lena - fine but blurs with the endless Lara/Lyra/Lola/Leila/Luna/Laya/Lila/Leahs, so I wouldn’t

Thea - there are quite a few Theas but if you add it to the zillion Theo/dores it is overdone. It’s alright. I think Thora is more interesting and less lispy

Hadtocomment · 29/08/2022 19:45

Lena - ok but blends into the L trend a little so not quite as characterful as some of the others for me
Thea - is this pronounced Thea or Tia? It's quite nice but lots of Theo's around so maybe a bit blendy as well.
Joanie - Ok. Seems a bit 50s? I prefer Jean at the moment.
Juliet - this is beloved on mumsnet. I try to imagine studying Romeo and Juliet at school called this as a teen. A bit like being Romeo! It's quite a nice name though.
Roslyn - never seen this as a name. Makes me think of the chapel. Like it. I also like Rosalind.
Cassia - prefer Cassandra. Love Cassie.
Josephine - have always loved this name

Hadtocomment · 29/08/2022 19:47

As Luredbyapomegranate reminds me, I do like Joanna too. Don't hear that so much these days.

resm · 29/08/2022 19:48

Another vote for Josephine!

OneCup · 29/08/2022 19:54

Juliet or Cassia!

20viona · 29/08/2022 19:59

Lena is ok.
Juliette I prefer spelled like this.
