What does people think of the name Octavia.
I love the name I saw it on a to show the 100 a few years ago, so maybe more common in America. Everyone I have told does not like the name. Is it really a weird name I don’t want her to grow up hating her name? Or is it one of the names she will grow in to and people will just get used to it

I think it's a nice name. Classical, Roman, unusual while still being familiar. I doubt your child's generation will care about the car.

Too close to Activia for me.

I love my Octavia (car). Very reliable, comfortable and all the features I want.

I also loved Octavia in The 100. She was my favourite character and I thought her name was beautiful.

Idc if it's a Skoda, it's a lovely name. Octavia Spencer also rocks that name.

I hate it but each to their own! My dd is a Charlotte and people who like Octavia would probably find Charlotte incredibly dull and plain!

I know an adult Octavia. I admit I did raise an eyebrow at her name when I first heard it. It's very much a statement name and betrays a lot about you as parents which might be difficult to live up to. But it turned out my colleague is very nice so I got used to her name pretty quickly.

I don't especially like it, but I know an adult Octavia and she wears it very well.

I'm personally not a fan but you won't please everyone.

I think it’s great really like it. I have never heard of the car and don’t get it as it’s a classical name. The name came first!

It's a bit Jilly Cooper imo.

It reminds me of the novel The Stars Are Upside Down by Gabriel Alington. It’s set in the 19th century and the main character is a teenage orphan called Octavia (known as Tavy), who emigrates to Australia. I really identified with the character, so I have a soft spot for the name!

Two born in 1988, one in 1998, one in 2008 and one on the 8th August who was the eighth grandchild.

I'd automatically assume there was an eighth link somewhere.

Dd2s best friend is Octavia known as Tavi. I like it as a name it hits the sweet spot of unusual but not weird for me
